The apartment is situated In one of the most prestigious locations in Tenerife within the exclusive urbanisation of Golf del Sur. It is close to the beach & New San Miguel Marina. Nearby are 2 Golf courses and a world class bowling complex and plenty of Restaurants and bars. It is ideal venue for relaxing Family or Golfing Holidays.

The Apartment suite can sleep 6 Adults and comes with quality furniture. It is extremely comprehensively equipped and include just about everything that you could think of including 2 TV’s, a DVD, a Video, a Hi-fi and large book, Music CD, Feature Film DVD & Video libraries (over 400 movies). There are 2 outside balconies. There is a massive main balcony and the master bedroom has a private balcony and en-suite bathroom. A lift to the ground floor and to the underground garage with our private garage space is just outside the front door. So is the Pool complex. Note: Wi-fi Internet access is available downstairs in the Wild Geese irish sports bar.

The Tenerife region

Tenerife is the largest, best known and many say the most beautiful of the Canary Islands. An island of vivid contrasts it is dominated by the 12,000-foot Mount Teide, a snow capped inactive volcano, which rises majestically above the craters and weird lunar landscapes of the Las Canadas National Park. To the north the lush green sub tropical vegetation, banana plantations and exotic flowers of the Oratava valley and the sophisticated resort of Puerto de la Cruz with its famous seafront lido. The south is hotter, more barren and drier with dark sandy beaches. Notable exceptions oare the tranquil fairways and greens of Golf del Sur and the lively all action cosmopolitan resorts of Playa de las Americas and it's more traditional neighbour Los Cristianos. The main attraction of the Canary Islands is their favoured climate providing warmth and sunshine throughout the year. Tenerife features the lowest temperature 'difference' between summer and winter for anywhere in the world. Air conditioning is quite rare, with overhead fans usually providing sufficient air movement to stay cool, even at the height of summer. The great altitude of Mount Teide gets up to three months of snow - yet it is still possible to enjoy a swim on the beach within an hour's ride. The coastal areas in the South enjoy the most sunshine, the best weather, the least clouds and highest temperatures. That’s where Golf del Sur and Duquesa Del Mar are located.

Golf del Sur / Duquesa del Mar area

The Golf del Sur resort, generally referred to, as “the Golf” is very different in comparison to the Los Cristianos and Las Americas resorts. Situated a mere 10 minute drive away from Tenerife South’s Sofa Reina Airport, it is a much more tranquil area, more geared to relaxing Family holidays. The streets of Golf Del Sur are lined with flowering plants and sub-tropical palm trees and as you enter the resort, you will notice the greenness of the golf fairways contrasting beautifully with the barren landscape of the rest of the South of the island. Making the Golf one of the prettiest areas in South Tenerife. Due to the tranquillity of the Golf del Sur this resort is ideal for those who wish to really chill out and relax on holiday, it is also ideal for families with young children being a somewhat safer area, and for the golfer it is ‘golfers paradise’ with a 27 hole championship golf course on your doorstep and 18 hole Amarilla Golf next door.
There are no touts in Golf del Sur and little night time noise from nightclubs or bars etc. The local regulations (which are enforced) require all outside entertainment to be finished by midnight and all entertainment to be inside thereafter. The Golf’s main square ‘San Blas’ is the central point for evening entertainment with free family oriented live cabaret acts and music to entertain you along with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. But this is not the noisy - lager fuelled environment found in the Veronicas & the Patch area of Las Americas. There is only one night club in the area unlike Los Christianos or Las Americas where there are many night clubs churning out dance music till the early hours of the morning. However, for an occasional night out to these ‘noisier’ resorts a taxi can be hired for a 10-15 minute drive at a small cost.
There are also various other bars and restaurants all around the resort catering for different tastes. The Wild Geese Irish Sports Bar downstairs has entertainment most nights as does its sister bar Grandee O’Donnell’s a few minutes walk away.
The promenade to the new Marina de San Miguel between Golf Del Sur and Amarilla Golf has seen some lovely new sea front restaurants open up which are great settings for an evening meal overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. There is certainly an air of exclusivity about Golf Del Sur and that once visited once, many return time and time again.
We tend to find that most tourists who have taken a holiday on the Golf return time and time again, they simply fall in love with the area and the friendly staff they encounter in the bars and restaurants, many of which make you feel at home. Due to the high proportion of British residents on the Golf, you’ll find many locals around who are more than willing to talk to you and guide you on the best places to visit and eat etc on the island. Next door to San Blas & just a 5 minute drive away is the quaint little fishing village of Los Abrigos where it is reported that they have the best fish restaurants on the whole of the island.

How to get there

Flights from most UK airports to Tenerife Sur (Reina Sofia) Airport.

Fridays & Tuesdays are the most popular charter flight days.

We often use Monarch who fly most days and sometimes Thomas Cook Airlines. It pays to shop arround on the Internet if you can. Also booking early is a good idea. There does not see to be the "last minuite cheepies" available anymore and the lower priced seats go quick. School Holiday Flights in particular can get very expensive if you leave it late.

Car Hire & Taxies are available at the airport. It's 10 minuites from there to Golf del Sur. The Taxi fair was 15euro in April.

We often hire a car on line going for the best 2 week deal we can get, last time was with Record (small/medium with air con) and pick up/leave it at the airport . If you get a big car it can be difficult to park in some places.

If your a really keen explorer type then there is a bus service that stops at the Airport & Just outside our Duquesa del Mar complex.

Duqueasa del Mar is a Secure private complex with locked gates & security cameras. Access by key or keypad only. All apartments are privatly owned by mostly british & Irish. Many permantly live there. So lots of English speakers on hand.
