The apartment benefits from a spacious balcony with doors to both the lounge area and bedroom. The bedroom boasts a king-size bed and the apartment as a whole is furnished to a very high standard. A great quality sofa-bed in the lounge means that the apartment can accommodate up to four guests comfortably. The kitchen is open-plan and extremely well-equipped: ideal for self-caters.

The apartment boasts a spacious balcony with views of the beach, sea and marina. Although it does not face directly onto the sea the views are great nonetheless. The balcony benefits from privacy screens to both sides giving a very private feel and has plenty of room for four people to relax and dine in comfort.

The pool area is simply stunning - with ample sun-loungers and too swimming pools (heated through the winter) the views over the Atlantic Ocean are spectacular. A fabulous place to enjoy the sun!

If you want even more choice you can visit Las Chafiras at the entrance to Golf del Sur - here you will find larger supermarkets alongside farmer's markets displaying a wide variety of island produce at superb value for money.

The apartment itself is exceptionally well-equipped for those who enjoy preparing their own food. The lounge/diner offers a large round table and chairs, or leading from the lounge is a spacious balcony with lovely sea and marina views, furnished with a large table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco in comfort.

There are also lots of local restaurants that offer a delivery service - whether you fancy a Chinese, Indian, Italian or Japanese there are plenty of delivery services to choose from.

FLIGHTS
Book your flight to Tenerife South Airport (TFS/Reina Sofia). Aguamarina is located in the peaceful, sunny resort of Golf del Sur, just 8 km from the airport (apartment is not in the flight path). Ryanair, Thomas Cook, Thompson, EasyJet, British Airways and lots of other airlines fly regularly to Tenerife.

“Perfect.” My first holiday in Tenerife and what a great place to stay. Loved the apartment and the fact it's so close to the beach and marina. It's a very well maintained complex and I loved the pool area and the views of the sea. Had a great time and will definitely be back to Aguamarina. We do have nice views of the marina, beach and sea from the balcony, and for even better views the pool area is a great place to while away the hours. Hope to see you again soon!

“Brilliant Holiday” We really enjoyed our stay at Aguamarina in Golf del Sur (private apartments). I found the flat to be extremely well kitted out with everything we needed and there were lots of little touches that made it far more than just another holiday apartment. The booking process was very easy and the keys were sent to us in plenty of time before our holiday so we were in the apartment and by the pool within about 30 minutes after landing at TFS airport. We ate out a lot but also cooked on the balcony using the grill provided. The English TV channels kept us happy in the evenings as we tended to eat at lunchtime and the apartment was very peaceful on the whole, as is the area of Golf del Sur. We played golf (2 golf courses within walking distance), played bowls and walked the coastal paths. We didn't need a car but we took a taxi into Las Americas a couple of times to go shopping and have a change of scene. All in all a wonderful holiday and we would not hesitate to recommend Rachel and Dave's flat by the sea to anyone considering spending a quality holiday on this lovely island. It is definitely worth noting that you don't need to hire a car if you prefer not to drive abroad, as Golf del Sur is just 10-15 euros by taxi from the airport and is very close to Playa de Las Americas if you fancy some hustle and bustle. There are also excusions to El Teide (volcano), Loro Parque (zoo) and all kinds of tourist attractions that you can arrange through the Aguamarina Hotel a few hundred yards away. If you can hire a car though it's a great idea, because off-the-beaten-track Tenerife is mind-blowingly stunning and in one day you can see tiny fishing villages, drive through pine forest, cruise through barren volcanic lava fields and visit remote beaches. It's fab!

“What a great place to stay.” Booking was simple and agreeable. The apartment is very clean and spacious with all necessary amenities. Many personal touches give it a homely feeling and it is ideally located near to numerous good restaurants and bars. Private pool area is perfect for sunbathing in peace and quiet, although it was a little breezy whilst we were there. Provides a great location to getaway. Response: We're so glad you had a great time! Yes, it can get a little windy in Tenerife (which is fantastic on very hot days). There are parts of the sunbathing area that shelter you from the wind and our balcony is lovely and sheltered too if you fancy a spot of afternoon sun. Hope to welcome you back soon!

“Fab holiday in a beautiful apartment” Thanks for a fantastic time in your lovely apartment!!! When we arrived we were so impressed by the front entrance – the building is lovely and your apartment is even lovelier. The pool is gorgeous and was really quiet despite there being lots of sunbathers. It felt like an exclusive place to stay. The balcony is so spacious compared to other places we have stayed and it was nice to be able to see the sea as well. We loved it so much we're hoping to come back in October! “A very suitable apartment in an excellent location for us” This is an ideal apartment for a couple with absolutely everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Clean and well presented and laid out and Rachel and Dave's booking process and information they provided was brilliant. Gold del Sur is of course ideal for golfers - but don't worry if you're not into golf - we are not and didn't go anywhere near a golf course except to admire one of the courses that jutted right out over the cliff edges to the sea (a lot of golf balls lost there I expect). It is a quiet small resort that suited us perfectly...more than enough restaurants and bars; a fantastic sea/cliffside promenade that we did everyday; We walked to the little fishing village Los Abrigos (about 30 minutes maximum); Bus routes really easy to use and we visited the busier resort of Los Christianos (20 minutes on bus). The weather was brilliant, not too hot this time of year but certainly got a couple of days around the lovely pool area soaking up the sun and relaxing. Would certainly recommend the apartment and the location if you are a couple and want to spend a relaxing time together. I am actually writing this from Tenerife itself as we have flown out for a holiday! The weather is superb - not a cloud in the sky. For those who enjoy getting out and about by car, the drive up to El Teide (the volcano) is superb and on a clear day you can see the neighbouring islands of La Palma, La Gomera and even El Hierro from the road that leads down to Los Gigantes. Tenerife is an incredible island - we love it and we know you will too ;o)

“Another great stay in the sun” This is my second visit to this lovely apartment and it felt like coming home. Rachel and Dave are so easy and pleasant to deal with and do everything they can to ensure a lovely stay. I was travelling alone and the apartment is so safe, secure and comfortable that quite honestly I felt I was in my own home, just with buckets of warm sunshine! I spent a lot of time at the pool, reading and watching the ocean. I went to the marina a few times to drool over the yachts and have a glass of wine at the end bar, which has incredible 360 degree views. I also walked a bit along the coast, watching the sun rise, which was lovely and relaxing. All in all another superb stay in this superb apartment. I have no hesitation in recommending Rachel and Dave's apartment to you if you are looking for a worry-free holiday in a gorgeous part of Tenerife. I will be back very soon and cannot wait.

“Got really lucky with this one!!” A great spot on Teneriffe - very handy for the airport. Only about 10 minutes in a cab to the accomodation. Lovely walks in all directions and plenty of choices for eating out. Easy to book tours and pick-up point was a two minute walk down the road. A big plus for me was the unit not overlooking the pool - so nice and peaceful. “Have no fear - you've backed a winner here!” Booking an apartment for the first time is not without its perils. Okay, the pictures of the place may look good, but what will you think when you get there and turn the key in the latch for the first time? Well, in the case of this apartment in the Aguamarina complex, all trepidations vanished as soon as we stepped inside. My wife and I are no longer in the first flush of youth, but the flat was bright and modern, very much to our taste. In fact, we might have furnished the place ourselves! A small, smart kitchen area housing a four-ring electric hob cooker with oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave and washing macine. Good quality crockery, glassware and cutlery, too. Lots of pots and pans as well as an electric barbecue grill that you could take out to the balcony and cook your steaks or chicken on, washed down with a nice glass of vino, of course. My wife and I always ate out on the big terrace, but there will no doubt be days when you might opt to use the dining table and chairs inside. Again, top quality, and built to last. There is a three-seater settee in the lounge, covered by a throw, and a comfortable place to sit and watch TV. The five main UK channels are available as well as two movie ones and Sky news. Good reception, too, which was appreciated over Olympic Games fortnight. A DVD player is also provided, along with a selection of films. Nice touch. The bedroom was again furnished to our taste, with a large double bed and lots of storage space. A ceiling fan kept us cool when we needed it on, and we were happy to have paid the few pounds extra for the air-conditioning unit that took just minutes to work its stuff. The balcony could be accessed through the bedroom and lounge and was where we spent most of our time in the apartment. It had a large table with four chairs, and eating out here was a delight, with the crashing waves of the nearby Atlantic Ocean providing a wonderful backdrop to al-fresco dining. The apartment faces west, so afternoon and evening sun is what hits the terrace. When we were there in July and August, tanning began at 4pm and finished three-and-a-half hours later. A wonderful time of day to read a book, or just lie back and slowly bronze. The bathroom was not found wanting, with a piercing shower over the bath. Never seemed to be short of hot water, even with two showers in a row. The Aguamarina complex itself seemed quiet, and we got the impression that summer might be the "off" season as far as holidaymakers go. Certainly there was no shortage of chairs at the first-floor swimming pool when we wanted one, and it was rare to have to share with anyone else in one of the two main lifts. Our apartment was on the fifth floor, but as you enter the apartment complex on level four, you are always only seconds away from your front door by elevator or stairs. The entrance area has a free Wifi set-up if you choose to take your laptop, and a library of holiday hardbacks to take your pick from. Shopping? Well, there is a mini market directly opposite the complex, but you will pay for the convenience. Not much of a selection here either. My wife and I opted to make the short walk (15 minutes at a push) along the coastal path to the HiperDino in San Blas. Pretty much all we needed here, including a good selection of wines, spirits and beers - just about everything MUCH cheaper than the shop across the road. Not much of a fresh meat counter in SuperDino, though. If you wanted a butcher's and felt energetic, another 15-minute walk would take you to Los Abrigos and the carniceria there. Don't make the mistake I did of following the road signs, take the short cut down the side of Hotel Vincci Tenerife Golf, then use the trail that cuts through the beach and over the headland into Abrigos. Nice little fishing village this and my wife and I enjoyed a pleasant meal there at the harbour in Restaurant Los Abrigos. Closed on a Wednesday, incidentally. Nearer home, we ate out at Tapas 'n' Chill, Harbour Lights, Marina 2 and the Rendezvous Bistro. Never disappointed. Good food and service wherever we went, though if asked to nominate a favourite, it would be the Bistro at the Winter Gardens bowling green. You might say it bowled us over! Our holiday at Aguamarina left us with a healthy glow. Golf del Sur may not hold the hedonistic delights of Los Cristianos or Playa de Las Americas, but if a quiet holiday in a nice location is your thing, well Golf del Sur might just swing it for you! The shop over the road is pretty good in general but, as you say, you will pay for the convenience, so for those who prefer to hire a car there are a few supermarkets at the entrance to Golf del Sur (Las Chafiras) that will save you lots of money. You can walk there too if you want some decent exercise. For walkers, San Blas is the next best place and depending on your route will take a 10-15 minute walk. We're flying out ourselves in 2 days time and are very much looking forward to chilling on the balcony in the evenings - your review has inspired us to try the new Tapas bar too! There's also a great bar at the very end of the marina with 360 degree views - perfect place to have a beer and stare at the yachts ... can't wait.

“PEACEFUL, RELAXING AND LOVELY” It was good to be able to cook for myself or go to the nearby restaurants to eat as the mood took me. The apartment was all it said it would be, clean comfortable and private with sea less than five minutes away and a pool area to relax in. I look forward to going again. It is very close to the sea as you say, and has views of the marina, which is lovely to look at with a glass of wine as the sun goes down. Lots of lovely restaurants there too, at any time of day - the Japanese and the Irish pub are particular favourites of ours, though our waistlines wouldn't agree! “Great sunshine break in early spring - winter get away” Very clean and homely apartment. Spacious for two, with opportunity to sleep a further 2 on the sofabed. Good size balony with side view to the beach and harbour. Apartment block was well kept, clean, spacious, with secure entrance and easy access with stairs and lifts. Swimming pools were in courtyard fully immersed in sunlight all day. Car parking was crowded but we managed to find a space on all five days. Shopping right across the road in the small supermarket. Everyone spoke English and was very helpful. Pubs and restaurants everywhere around us. Very close to airport but no aircraft noises. Short drive to Christianos and de las Americas for strolls along the extensive promenades. We loved the fact that our apartment was in a quieter more residential area, but with everything in walking distance. Car hire was cheap and trips to the busy tourist spots were easy. Will definitely come back - especially early spring to enjoy the sunshine and warmth. Proprietors very easy to deal with and communications via e-mail were quick and very helpful. Reading your comments makes us want to leap on a plane and be there right now - the sunbathing area is the perfect place to bask in the warmth of the sun all day, and with uninterrupted views over the shimmering Atlantic ... heaven! It's a lovely, airy, spacious apartment for 2 people and really does have everything you need both inside the apartment and on your doorstep. And all, we think, at an incredible price :o)
