"Would not stay here again - Pathetic."
I would just like to warn others who are considering staying here, that when arriving back home in England, we received a pathetic email with a list of reasons on why they were not returning the &poun… More
Many thanks for taking the time to leave this review after your 3 week stay in our apartment. Not once were you in contact with our cleaner/manageress to complain about anything during your stay. You also did not complain or discuss any problems with her when she came weekly to change the linen and towels during your stay. There was also no communication via email or telephone received from you after your return to the UK to say you were not happy with your stay in our apartment. It is therefore obvious to myself, our cleaner and others that you must of had a pleasant, comfortable and enjoyable stay in our apartment.
Whenever I reply to a guests enquiry about a price for a stay in our apartment I always inform them that a returnable bond will be required also. They are told that this bond is payable with the final payment due and that it is generally returned to them within 1 week of their departure from the apartment following a satisfactory inspection. This information was clearly written in paragraph 2 of the reply email I sent you early January 2013 after you had made an enquiry. A bond is always taken even from guests we know who regularly stay in our apartment year after year.
In all the years we have had guests staying in our apartment there has only been yourself and one other guest who have not received back the bond paid. If a satisfactory inspection is not carried out by our cleaner after a guests departure my cleaner informs me of this in writing and also provides photographic evidence of what the problem / damage was. It is then after receiving this report and photographs that I make a decision to return or not return the bond to the guest. In your case I received the unsatisfactory inspection report and photos on the Tuesday following your departure from the apartment on the Sunday. I did try to call you on the Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the matter but got no reply, hence sending the email.
With regards to the email I sent you on the Thursday it is obvious you did not read it properly as you have written some incorrect information in your review. To clarify :
1) Two bed sheets had something spilt on them this was not, blood as written in your review our cleaner was unsure what it was. They were so badly stained that even using stain remover products and repeated washing were unable to get clean. Therefore, 2 new bed sheets were having to be purchased. Our cleaner added that she wished you had phoned her when the spillage happened on the sheets. She would have come to the apartment and replaced these with clean one's and may of been able to remove the stains with washing immediately.
2) You say in your review that there was a stain on the sofa bed there was in fact several stains. These stains our cleaner informed us appeared to be blood and make-up. Our cleaner was having to buy some professional cleaner to use on the sofa to remove the stains.
3) The kitchen sink was so severely blocked that all parts under the sink had to be removed, cleaned out thoroughly and drain cleaner used also. The photo I received clearly shows the blocked drain and the sink full of sweetcorn, onions and other food matter.
4) The apartment itself was left our cleaner says in the worse mess she has seen in a long time, this resulted in extra cleaning needed.
I am sorry to hear that you feel "screwed over" by not having your £50 bond paid returned to you. However, after reading the unsatisfactory inspection report, viewing the photographic evidence and considering the extra expense it was going to cost us to put things right in my opinion felt that I was justified to not send back your £50 bond paid.
Finally, you write in your review that our apartment is not a family apartment, this comment I find ridiculous! Through the years we have had an endless amount of families stay in our apartment. Ages of the children staying range from babies (hence having the travel cot in the apartment) to teenagers. We have never received any complaints or negative feedback from any families who have stayed in our apartment. Several of these families have enjoyed their stay so much that they have re-booked to stay in our apartment the following year. They have also recommended us to their family and friends. In fact we have a family staying in our apartment later this month. This will be the 3rd time they have stayed in our apartment so I think you will find that this is confirmation that our apartment is definitely for families and liked by them!

"A warm and relaxing winter break in a fab appartment"
Having never been on a winter sun break before, it was a great experience, and one we would recommend. The weather was varied with rain now and again, but always warm and sunbathing was possible. With the Golf de sur being so close to the airport, there was some plane noise, but not excessively loud. Infact the complex was very peaceful and relaxing, suitable for all ages, but perhaps not lively enough for clubbers.
Car hire was not required, we used taxis to transfer, which were convenient and reasonably priced, otherwise bus stops were literally footsteps away from our complex running regularly into bigger towns. Golf courses are close by and there are a great variety of restaurants (Chinese, mexican, Indian, Italian, English, etc) all within walking distance. We highly recommend 'The Old Mill' for their award winning fish and chips and the Mexican was something so different and so reasonably priced. The only thing that truly disappointed me was the quality of the beach in the area, which didn't appear to be used, was very small, ill equipped and unkempt.
Fortunately, the Royal Parque Albatros made up for the lack of beach. It was extremely clean and well cared for, the staff were polite and always available to help. The pool size, restaurant and ammenities appeared adequate for the time of year we visited, however we never found the complex supermarket - perhaps this is closed in the winter season, even so there were enough shops close to the complex to fulfil our needs.
The appartment itself was superb and lived up to everything that it stated. It was modern, clean and tidy and well equipped for our self catering needs. It easily accomodated the two of us, and very comfortably too. Sandra, the appartment owner, was approachable and helpful, only being a phone call away if we required, which helped our holiday along.
