The Southeast Paros has the most stunning beaches that can meet all the requirements.

Golden Beach: 400 m.

Supermarket: 3 km.

Pharmacy: 4 km.

Bus stop: 1200 m.

Port- Parikia: 23 km.

Airport: 10 km.

Piso Livadi: 4 km { a small port with fishing boats and also a marina for sailboats and fish taverns that always serve fresh fish.

Dryos: 3 km {with lush vegetation, the water basins and the shady quiet beach with the famous pebbles and green - blue waters. A section of ancient neosiki is salvaged here. These are trenches in the solid rock, where they used to pull the boats up for storage}

Marpissa: 4 km { one of the most picturesque villages on the island. Homes of unparalleled architecture, cobblestone whitewashed streets, small squares and old mills}.

Naousa: 14.5 km.

For those who love walking there are amazing footpaths for hiking among small vineyards and olive groves and the aromas of oregano, thyme and sage.

Drives to the nearby wonderful monasteries with the spectacular view, of Saint Antonios at the Kefalos hill, with the wood-carved iconostasis and the folk illustration and of Saint Georgios which was recently renovated, with cypress trees, a nearby cavern and an unexplored cave a bit further away, called Demonon.

Also in the area is the spring of Afkoulakio, the tastiest water of Paros, among cypress trees and oleanders near the small church of Saint Arsenios, an unforgettable excursion

Still the Byzantine road that joins Lefkes with Prodromos, offers a pleasant and comfortable trip that takes about ninety minutes.

Excursions by car or mountain bike on a good rural road network, allow one to traverse fabulous locations and discover the island interior, away from tourist resorts, with captivating beaches and places with spectacular views.

Alternatively one can go horseback riding at the Riding Center near Naousa which arranges walks on horses.

Paros is the only island of the Cyclades which combines all the types of tourism: family holidays, athletic holidays, peaceful, revelling, meditation, walks, tours of historical interest, a jet-set lifestyle, calm afternoons, noisy nights, crazy sleepless party nights.

It is an ideal vacation place which combines the simple, the plain, peacefulness and solitude, a rich cultural life, cosmopolitan activity and one big party that lasts all summer long.

A peaceful island, one of the most popular vacation destinations, it offers warm hospitality and excellent tourist services.

In Paros there are many opportunities for entertainment: large clubs, quiet bars, international cuisine, traditional tavernas and ouzo bars, even two outdoor summer cinemas.

There are many opportunities to party with the traditional celebrations and customs. Parians are renowned for their dancing and musical abilities. The basic dances are the island syrtos and the balos as well as the ageranos (that reflects ancient dances), the beat of the traditional songs of Paros accompanied by the lagouto and the violin but also by the tsabouna (like bagpipes) and the toubaki (like a toubeleki which is a folk drum).

The climate conditions favor the development of viniculture and since 1981 Paros has been designated a grapevine Cultivation Zone with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), with the native varieties white Monemvasia and the red Mantilaria.

Local tsipouro called souma (distilled from grape must) is also produced each fall by the cottage industry.

The Parian cuisine which is based on olive oil, onion, greens, good bread, and wine and minimally on meat, is considered one of the most balanced in the Greek area and in Europe. Moreover an older study by UNESCO showed the residents of Lefkes in Paros to be among the most long-lived in Europe, exactly because of their diet.

Paros has one of the largest fishing fleets in Greece. There is fish of all categories, lobsters, crayfish, calamari and cuttlefish. There is octopus cooked in wine or with pasta or sun-dried and grilled, urchins but also gouna (charcoal grilled sun-dried mackerel) and fish soup (kakavia).

There are also exquisite pies, chick-peas that are oven-cooked in an earthenware pot, split peas, meatballs made of legumes and vegetables, karavoli (large escargot), island sausages, rabbit and squab but also amanites, wild artichokes, fresh broad beans, string beans or kalfa with garlic sauce, capers and purslane.

The cheeses of Paros are noteworthy, gruyere, sour skim-milk cheese combined with the barley crisps produced on the island, farmer's cheese, cheese made in goatskin and olive oil-cheese which are still made on the island in the traditional way.

During the summer period painting and sculpture exhibitions are organized, concerts and classes by the Aegean University.

The Aegean Sea communities have inspired the modern Architectural movement.

"The wise, correct and superb play of masses gathered under the light"", a definition of Architecture by Le Corbusier, is a clear indication of the response to Aegean Architecture

The traditional communities of Paros, Naousa, Lefkes, Marpissa, Prodromos and Parikia are considered some of the best examples of Cycladic Architecture, scenic villages, in complete harmony with the environment, humane and livable.

"Together stood the houses

both small and square

with a white arch and indigo door"

(Odysseus Elytis- THE AXION ESTI)

Touring the cobbled roads of our villages reveals an untouched world, a wealth of morphological elements of high aesthetic quality, the result of a lengthy tradition in marble-sculpture as well as the influence of religious architecture, that gave significant elements such as the arched galleries and the character of the marble décor in some of the most remarkable examples of homes.
