Home description
Newly constructed fully furnished and equipped holiday home, built to a high specification. Upper floor is a magnificent bedroom with en suite, dressing area, lounge area, and balcony with outstanding views down the canal. Second and third bedrooms have own balconies. 4th bedroom also has office area. Large living room has kitchen area, dining area and lounge area, with sliding glass doors leading onto sundeck, private beach and jetty. Sundeck is equipped with barbecue, loungers, and additional dining table and chairs.

Ready access by water taxi or light seaplane to all the facilities of the Gold Coast - fabulous surfing beaches, theme parks, vibrant night life, high standard international cuisines. The Gold Coast hinterland includes rugged tropical rain-forests. Summer (Dec-Feb) is hot (68-83 deg F). Autumn (March-May 61-77 deg F) and Spring (Sept-Nov 59-77 deg F) are more agreeable for northern Europeans. Winter (June-Aug 61-77 deg F) has lovely sunny days, but chill-ish nights
Gold Coast / South Stradbroke Island area
The island, 5 miles long by maximum 1 mile wide, is almost entirely nature reserve. 5 miles of glorous sandy surf beach to the east; calm sandy beaches facing the mainland. Unique golden wallabies abound. Vegetation is partly tropical forest, disected by sandy tracks for good walking.
Mainland is reached by water taxi. International night-life in Surfers' Paradise. Numerous theme parks on mainland;. Fishing including deep-sea fishing, surfing, sailing, etc. "Indy" (car race) held on city roads each October. Hinterland includes drammatic tropical jungle.
How to get there
Fly to Brisbane International Airport, then road (50 mins) or shuttle bus to Gold Coast. Alternatively fly to Coolangatta international airport, then by road (40 mins).
Take water taxi direct to own jetty on island. Cars may be left secure (and at no cost) at Runaway Bay Marina on mainland; no visitor's cars (or pets) are permitted on the island.
Marina also has launching ramp if you tow your own boat

Just a short walk away (or cruise in your runabout) is Couran Point Island Resort where guests have access, with its restaurant and bars, tennis, cycles,canoes, pedal boats, sports oval, games room, putting green, children's playground, etc., subject to availability. A shuttle is operated for the 1-mile cross-island journey to the magnificent surfing and fishing beach. Great bush walking in mainly National Trust property - tropical forest and sandy tracks. Unique golden wallabies; no pets allowed on the island. Sandy beaches along quieter coast facing mainland.
