About the home

Located in a peaceful residential development in Gocek, the apartment is ideal for those who'd like a luxury, relaxing "home from home" whilst on holiday.

There is a fully fitted kitchen for self-catering, alternatively there are lots of great quality restaurants just along the road in Gocek Marina for those who wish to completely relax on holiday.

The rear balcony has sea views and overlooks one of the communial pools and sun-terrace which is bathed in sunshine all day and makes the ideal place for lazy days in the sun, there are 4 communal pools in total. For the more energetic there are the on-site tennis courts and water-sports at various resorts just along the coast.

Gocek is a beautiful rural village with the bonus of a number of marinas along its part of the coast, there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars but none of the crowds found at the more tourist-centred destinations. If you are looking for noise, crowds and lively nightlife, this is not the place for you.

All the equipment was brand new for last season and the apartment's windows and doors are fly-screened allowing you the choice of open windows rather than aircon if you prefer.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The climate is Mediterranean and generally the hottest months of the year are July and August when the daytime temperature hovers at around 35°C. The cooler months of December, January and February see the daytime temperature drop to between 2°C and 11°C. The annual rainfall amount for the town is 27 inches with December and January usually being the wettest months of the year. Gocek is popular with sailors and land lovers alike. It is also well known with the international yachting community and it's 6 marinas are a sight to behold. A little further afield there are the mud baths of Dalyan or the famous beach of Olu Deniz.

The Gocek area

There are many different activities on offer in and around Gocek anything from taking a boat trip to explore the coves around the bay to trekking in the hills.
There are also historical sights to see in any given direction like the Lycian Rock Tombs which are the resting places of the kings of Caunos.

These have been carved in the style of Lycian rock tombs which date back to 400BC. As the tombs are set high up into the cliff face the best way to see them is to take a boat up the stream.

Gocek 12 island boat trip is a fantastic day out. During the trip there are five stops including Cleopatra’s Bath, Bedri Rahmi, Aquarium Bay, Ancient Shipyard and Pancake Island. The boat stops for about 45 minutes in each bay for swimming, snorkelling or you can soak up the sun on deck.

Saklikent Gorge is something different to experience on your holiday. This is a pleasant walk that takes you through the canyon. As the walls of the gorge are steep the sun never reaches the floor, if you are brave enough you can wade into the cool, refreshing stream. There are some small restaurant inside and outside the gorge which are famous for their delicious fresh trout.

Many people go to visit the mud baths of Dalyan where you can cover yourself head to toe in the cleansing and healing mud whilst relaxing in the sun as it dries. If mud isn't for you then you can spend some time relaxing in the sulphur pools. For those who enjoy water sports Gocek offers snorkelling, swimming, scuba diving and windsurfing while Olu Deniz is great for paragliding.

“Tantalizing Turkey” Clean spacious well equipped apaprtment, including sky tv, dvd dish washer and washing machine. Transfers arranged good price and met on time. Small friendly complex with on hand manager and 24 hour security. Good sizes pool. 10 minuite walk to beautiful harbour excellent restaurants,boats and bars. Must do 12 island cruise, other activities arranged or hire car, all between 30 minutes to 1 hour away.Mud baths at Dalyan, busy market in Fethyie, St Georges gorge an exhilarating experience. Will definitely worth a return visit.

“Great base for exploring with a lovely pool at the end of the day” This apartment was all that we had hoped for and excellent value for money. It has a fantastic sea view from the balcony and is cool and spacious in the heat. Really useful to have a washing machine, dishwasher and DVD player! Lack of wifi was solved by taking the managers advice and going to the helpful garden restaurant nearby. The weather was unusually wet while we were in Turkey but this didn't dent our pleasure at all. We hired a car and travelled north as far as Cannakale, south to Kas and inland to Pammukale and visited many other places inbetween. Gocek is a charming place to wander with lots of nice places to eat and we loved the little local beach 5 minutes south of there, so different to the smart beach at the end of the Mariana, which was very civilised. Umut the manager on site was very helpful, even leaping out of his bath to take us to the airport when our transfer was late.
