Home description
Fairwinds is a stunning three bedroomed air conditioned villa, set in gardens with private pool and superb mountain views. The gardens have recently been planted with orange, lemon and banana trees. A ten minute level walk brings you to the centre of Gocek with its many restaurants and bars, traditional Turkish shops, lively seafront and the world class Port Gocek, renowned as one of the finest marinas in the Mediterranean. The famous Twelve Islands and bays of the Gulf of Fethiye await you as day boat trips can be taken from the harbour and boats can be chartered from Port Gocek for longer voyages.
Within easy reach are the Market town of Fethiye, Calis Beach, ancient city ruins at Xanthos, Patara, Dalyan, Pinara and Letoon, the beautiful lagoon at Olu Deniz and the magnificent Saklikent Gorge.
The villa sleeps 6 in two double bedrooms (each with king size beds & individual balconies), one with en suite shower room and a third bedroom with bunk beds. There is a further family bathroom including jacuzzi bath and shower, plus a downstairs cloaks/wc. The large veranda is shaded all day until sunset, in time for a sundowner. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Outside next to the pool there are sun loungers and the veranda has seating for 6 people, plus an additional dining area overlooking the pool, also for 6 people. The villa is cleaned weekly and all linen is provided. The nearest shop for basic provisions is 300 metres away with two supermarkets and several grocers in the village itself. With the opening of the Gocek Tunnel, Fairwinds is now only a twenty minute journey from the new Airport at Dalaman, and transfers can be arranged.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The Turquoise Coast of Southwest Turkey enjoys guaranteed sunshine all summer with little or no rainfall between May and November. The area abounds with history with fantastic nearby sites and ancient cities dating back to Roman times and before. There are several resorts of differing character, attracting visitors with a wide range of holiday requirements from sailing, paragliding, white-water rafting, walking, bird-watching, fishing and of course, simply relaxing by the azure sea whilst enjoying Turkish hospitality.
Gocek area
We found Gocek through sailing and Gocek has long been a favourite with the yachting fraternity due to its sheltered position tucked into the west corner of the Gulf of Fethiye. Boat trips can be taken from the harbour to visit the beautiful Islands and bays in the Gulf. Many international yachting events are hosted or begin in Gocek. In recent years however, it has become a desirable location for non-sailing holidays as more people discover its charm, the friendliness of the local people and the wide range of shops and restaurants. Strict building laws have meant that there are no high-rise hotels usually associated with larger resorts. There are a few small hotels in the village and the luxurious 5 star Swiss Inn near the marina, together with several villas, Gocek is becoming an exclusive resort, whilst retaining its village atmosphere. Nightlife is centred around the many waterfront restaurants and classy bars. In the daytime, you can explore the village and watch the activity on the waterfront where local tripper boats mingle with yachts of all sizes. Port Gocek Marina is renowned as one of the finest in the Mediterranean, and also has several Restauarants and bars, providing an interesting stroll from the villa followed by an aperatif and maybe a meal. Every Sunday the village experiences a swell of visitors - locals and tourists alike - to Gocek's famous market. Here you can buy fresh produce, household goods, linens and clothes and spend an enjoyable couple of hours amid the bustle and colour. A 30 minute dolmus journey brings you to Fethiye, a large bustling market town whose main industry is agriculture, but is also a popular resort with its bazaar, harbour and marina and the long beach at Calis. Excellent local transport from Gocek enables visits to Olu Deniz, Hisoronu, Saklikent Gorge, Kaya "Ghost" Village and Dalyan, with its riverboats, mud baths and the famous Turtle Beach. Car hire is also available from Gocek or Dalaman Airport or the Villa itself. There are two banks with cash exchange machines and several mini-markets located in the village and close by.
How to get there
Fly to Dalaman. Charter flights from most UK Regional Airports April to November. Scheduled flights via Istanbul year round with Turkish Airlines. Gocek is a 20 minute drive from Dalaman.
Car hire also available at the airport or car can be arranged for pick-up/drop off at the Villa.

Further details indoors: Open plan living/dining area with patio doors to large veranda. Two bedrooms have hand made king size beds and balconies with third having bunk beds and patio door & balustrade enabling welcome breezes throughout the property. A travel cot is available for guests' use. Fully fitted & modern equipped kitchen. Air conditioning in all bedrooms and living room. On display in the villa are numerous photographs we have taken of the stunning scenery around the islands and bays of Gocek.

All bookings must start and end on a Fridays during the peak season, unless by prior arrangement.
Competitive car hire and local trips can be arrange on request. Fairwinds is maintained by a friendly management team (located in Gocek) which will gladly advise you details of the property and areas of local interest. Boat trips including night cruises, and bbq's can also be arranged.
The Pool will be maintained daily and the gardens weekly.
Guests are asked to vacate the property no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
The Pool maybe unavailable from November to March, contact owner for details.
For guests staying two weeks, there will be a laundry change for the bed linen and villa towels mid - stay. Any further laundry services can be easily arranged through our manager.
The rental costs are based on a maximum of 6 people, however, an additional 2 people could be accommodated subject to prior agreement .
A travel cot is available for guests to use at their own risk. More details are available on enquiry.

The gardeners were very good, they came every day,and the grass was cut twice while we were there the pool man came several times and the pool was kept clean. The house was well looked after, the cleaner was excellent and came mid holiday, changed linen and towels, and was very friendly. We were well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

The weather was lovely, very hot, so we spent a lot of time in the pool, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

The villa is very well equipped and feels more like a home than a rental property. The outside living space is nearly as large as indoors and is just as comfortable. We barbecued a few nights (just had to buy some fresh fish from the market!) and watched the sun set over the mountains, whilst a small owl kept watch over us - it was quite magical. The other nights we walked into town and sampled just a few of the large number of restaurants. All were excellent and generally excellent value for money. And a new wine bar in Gocek - an excuse to try some different Turkish wines. We can honestly say it is the best holiday rental villa we have had and we'd like to think we will return in the not too distant future".
