Things to do

A few minutes walk from the cottages lies the Gloucester - Sharpness Canal. A peaceful haven for wildlife, narrowboats and pleasure craft, walkers and cyclists. Cycle route 41 takes you along the towpath to Slimbridge and Berkeley.

On various spring tides of the year the famous 'Severn Bore' can be viewed, a tidal wave that travels 20 miles upstream reaching heights of about 6-8 ft at its peak.

The beautiful Cotswolds are only a short 15-minute drive to the east.

To the west via Gloucester or the Severn Bridge is the Royal Forest of Dean

Gloucester - Visit Gloucester Cathedral, The Historic Docklands, National Waterways Museum, Folk Museum, Nature in Art and much more.

Wildfowl and Wetland Trust at Slimbridge - 6 miles by road 2 miles along the canal tow path.

Westonbirt Arboretum, Berkeley Castle, Regency Cheltenham, Tyndale Monument, Woodchester Mansion, are all with easy driving distance.

Back to Frampton, Tanhouse Farm was a Working Farm milking 95 cows, growing 40 acres of corn with a small number of beef cattle. Having always had a fascination for trees it was decided to put the farm into forestry. In the autumn/winter of 1998/99 Nebrow Hill Oak Wood was created, 110,000 trees were planted mainly hardwoods: oak, ash, walnut, sycamore etc. producing timber for the future and providing a wonderful wildlife habitat.

Coarse fishing is available in Frampton on the canal. Clay Pigeon shooting can be arranged on the premises.
