A two bedroom, two bathroom apartment set within the Lock Warehouse, a recently restored Victorian former Grain Warehouse. The conversion of the building has been completed to a high level of specification, reflecting the exclusive quality of the building and location. Although modern amenities such as a lift have been installed as part of the conversion, wonderful original features such as massive oak beams, exposed brickwork and original cast iron columns have been preserved. The building has the unique juxtaposition of historic features and amenities for modern living.
The apartment contains modern features such as heated towel rails and heated mirror pads in the bathrooms to prevent them steaming up when showering. Other features include Porcelanosa tiles, tapware and sanitaryware, a fully fitted kitchen by Paula Rosa with integrated Zanussi appliances – including stainless steel cooker hood, hob and oven. The kitchen also contains an integrated dishwasher, fridge-freezer and a washer dryer.
The living area has views of the Docks to the west and south and of the river Severn, city and countryside to the north and east. The lounge contains a corner sofa that can seat 5 people, a coffee-table and a wide-screen television with an integrated DVD player. There is a small dining table for two. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The main bathroom contains a large (1700 x 700) bath with shower over the bath. Each bathroom also contains a shaver socket.
Standing alone at the north end of Gloucester Docks, enjoying uninhibited, panoramic views in all directions, the Lock Warehouse is the last of the historic warehouses in the Docks to be converted and is also one of the best positioned. With waterside views of Gloucester Docks and the adjoining Quays area to the south, views of the river and countryside to the west and the city and Gloucester Cathedral to the north, this historic building occupies a truly enviable position.
Gloucester Docks is the perfect city break destination. There are a number of restaurants, bars and cafes nearby to choose from. These include Mexican, Italian, American, Chinese and Thai cuisine. The Gloucester Quays Designer outlet centre is a two minute walk though the Docks and contains a wonderful array of shops selling discounted designer brands. These include L.K Bennet, Nike, Calvin Klein Austin Reed, Hawes & Curtis, Hush Puppy, Le Crueset. and many more. There is also a newly opened 6 screen Cinema (including 3D) and a 24 hour Gym within the Quays complex. The gym can be used on a day-to-day basis for a small fee without any need to be a member.
The Lock Warehouse is accessed either via a key or with a code, assuring security within the common areas. The building also has a video entry system. There is allocated parking at Castlemeads car park for the exclusive use of the apartment. This is a short (250m) walk from the building. There is also a loading bay just outside of the building for short period parking or loading/unloading.
The bed sizes and bathroom arrangements are as follows :
Master Bedroom : King-size bed (150cm by 200cm), ensuite bathroom with shower.
2nd Bed: Double (135cm x 200cm), uses main bathroom which contains bath and shower over the bath.
A returnable deposit of £100 is required which will be returned after the holiday assuming everything is left in order. Please note that the property contains high quality fittings and furnishings which which guests are asked to treat with respect. Guests are expected to take responsibility for the actions of any children in their party. Please note that animals are not permitted in the property. Any damage will be deducted from the deposit or will need to be paid for prior to leaving the property.

There are festivals and events throughout the year, from wonderful summer food fairs and the Tall Ships Festival (which you can almost feel like an extra from Pirates of the Caribbean) to the sumptuous Victorian Market which is full of Victorian delights and actors – watch out for Fagin and his gang!
