"Friendly owner and excellent flat for exploring the peak district"
Had a lovely stay here, Alison was friendly and the flat was very well equipped. Used it as a base to explore the peak district while also within easy reach of Manchester. Flat had great views, had a nice curry house and pubs/shops nearby, and was also comfortable for spending a relaxing night in.
Really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the apartment. Hoped you enjoyed visiting Castleton and Eyam. Hope to see you again in the future. Thank you for your taking the time to put a review on Tripadvisor it is really appreciated.

We stayed in no6 the gables in Hadfield for the weekend, the apartment is lovely, its really clean and beautifully decorated throughout, it was quite at night which is always a bonus. Alison who I assume owns it was really welcoming, she had got us some milk and even had the kettle on for us ! Hadfield its self is quite but Glossop is only 5 mins away on the train,we liked a pub called the palatine in had field which proudly boasts lots of photos of the league of gentlemen which was filmed in Hadfield. It is a good base to explore from we visited Castleton,Bakewell and Whaley bridge.
Pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the apartment. Thank you for taking the time to put a review on Tripadvisor. Hope to see you again in the future.

"Lovely Apartment perfect for a cosy getaway to the Peak Area"
I stayed at the Gables apartment for the Bank Holiday weekend in August. It was cosy comfortable and had everything we needed for a bank holiday getaway! Alison was very approachable and helpful when we arrived. She left lots of useful information for us on the local area too. I would highly recommend this apartment and we would go back again! Ps. Very comfy bed!!!
Thank you for your lovely review. So pleased you enjoyed your stay at our cosy apartment. Do hope you return in the future as there is so much to see in the beautiful Peak District.

"Fantastic - I would highly recommend it!"
I stayed at 'The Gables' with my teenage daughter. The apartment was absolutely spotless and perfectly equipped for a short stay. The usual bits and pieces in the kitchen and iron, clothes dryer etc in the large walk in wardrobe. The newly installed Wi-Fi was a real bonus ! Alison had provided lots of local information and maps. The area itself was great too. All sorts of places to eat and also a Tesco Express and Boots opposite, but it somehow maintained it's charm! There was a lovely walk around the reservoir just a ten minute walk from the apartment and plenty other areas within easy reach.. We liked the views at Hope particularly. Glossop was a short drive away. Being vegetarian, we were really pleased to find 'The Globe', a vegan pub there. The décor is a little shabby, but the food was tasty and very cheap - we had two drinks. a starter and two main meals for just under £10! The service was very friendly too. The ONLY point I would mention, and a previous review has already mentioned this, is the street below the flat is quite noisy early in the morning and as the shops are closing. If you are a light sleeper as I am I would recommend ear-plugs. I would like to stress that it did not disturb my daughter and it certainly would not put me off staying again! (And the bed was extremely comfy!) I would thoroughly recommend a stay!
Thanks for your lovely review. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this. Hope to see you again in the future.

"Comfortable little apartment in a good location"
The whole apartment is very cosy, clean and well equipped. It has an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen with lovely views over the surrounding village and Peak District hills beyond, a very comfortable bedroom and a modern bathroom with good strong shower. The owner, Alison, is very welcoming and friendly, and met us at the apartment to give us the key and show us around. The location right in the centre of Hadfield is excellent, with local shops (baker, chemist, supermarket, etc) nearby, as well as a fantastic multi-award-winning butcher right opposite – we can't recommend their bacon and sausages highly enough (we even bought some to take home – the Cumberlands are the best I've ever had). The only minor disadvantage of the central location is that the deliveries to some of the shops start very early (5.30-6am!) and the drivers aren't especially concerned with keeping the early morning noise down, so you might find a pair of earplugs useful if you're not an early riser. There is no wi-fi in the apartment, but the O2 signal was strong with good 3G if you need data. Overall, a great place to stay for both Manchester and the Peak District – highly recommended.
Pleased that you enjoyed your stay & loved the views. Good to hear that you sampled the bacon & sausage from the local butcher.

"Lovely apartment in an excellent location"
We stayed in this apartment for a weekend in August. The apartment itself is lovely, with everything you could need. It's well decorated and clean and has great views over the countryside from the living room. The owner (Alison) was extremely helpful and hospitable and provided all the little extras and things that you might forget when you go away (towels, shampoo, condiments, cleaning products etc) She also provided bread, milk and a bottle of wine on arrival- lovely touches. The location of the apartment is excellent, especially if you want to be able to ditch the car whilst you're away. On the same street you have takeaways, chemist, bakery, butchers, chip shop (best fish and chips I've had for years!) newsagent, mini supermarket etc. We visited 4 different pubs, all within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the apartment. We would particularly recommend The Anchor on Hadfield Road, which had karaoke on Friday night and a singer on Saturday night. If you like cycling, the Longdendale trail starts about 2 minutes from your door. This is a trail that follows the path of a disused railway line. It is approximately 6.5 miles in each direction with lovely views of the reservoirs and moorland. We chose to go further afield for walking, but I believe there are walks you can do straight from your door. If you're staying for longer there are plenty more things to do and places to visit nearby. All in all, I would definitely recommend this apartment (the apartment itself and the location) and would go back there myself. We had a great weekend. Thanks.
Always pleased to hear our guests have enjoyed their stay with us. Our aim is to make you feel at home. Hope you come back and stay with us again. (There is so much to see in the Peak District.)

The Gables is a lovely and well furnished apartment, very easily accessible from the train station. There are lovely and quiet trails for walking nearby. Had a wonderful time and it was exactly what I was looking for in a holiday. The host, Alison, was warm and welcoming and very accommodating. Hope to be back soon.
Glad you enjoyed your stay at the Gables. Look forward to you returning for another stay in the future.
