A loft apartment furnished to a high standard in the centre of Hadfield village with views of surrounding countryside. One bedroom with king sized bed, lounge with dining facilities, kitchen with modern appliances, bathroom with shower over bath. Private parking to the rear of the property. An ideal base for walkers/cyclists as we are situated just a short distance from the Longdendale Trail.
The property is in the centre of Hadfield village with bakery,butcher, chemist & supermarkets, chip shops, take-aways , pubs & cafés. There is a ten-pin bowling alley and a snooker hall and cycle hire. Stunning scenery with walks around the reservoir and surrounding countryside. Two minutes walk from the railway station with trains to Glossop and Manchester.
Glossop is only a few minutes away by car (or train) and offers a variety of shops and numerous places to eat.
Nearby attractions Chatsworth House, Buxton with it's many attractions or a trip into Manchester browsing the many shops. Lyme Park is only 30 minutes by car and is well worth a visit.
Hadfield was also the location for Royston Vasey (League of Gentlemen).

The Heart of England/Peak District
Hadfield is a parish and small residential town in High Peak, Derbyshire, England . The village is part of the Peak District, and is next to Glossop with many local amenities and services being based in Glossop.
Glossop is a busy, bustling former mill town and the largest settlement in the north-western corner of the Peak - though like Buxton it lies just outside the National Park boundaries.

"Comfortable little apartment in a good location"
The whole apartment is very cosy, clean and well equipped. It has an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen with lovely views over the surrounding village and Peak District hills beyond, a very comfortable bedroom and a modern bathroom with good strong shower.
The owner, Alison, is very welcoming and friendly, and met us at the apartment to give us the key and show us around.
The location right in the centre of Hadfield is excellent, with local shops (baker, chemist, supermarket, etc) nearby, as well as a fantastic multi-award-winning butcher right opposite – we can't recommend their bacon and sausages highly enough (we even bought some to take home – the Cumberlands are the best I've ever had). The only minor disadvantage of the central location is that the deliveries to some of the shops start very early (5.30-6am!) and the drivers aren't especially concerned with keeping the early morning noise down, so you might find a pair of earplugs useful if you're not an early riser.
There is no wi-fi in the apartment, but the O2 signal was strong with good 3G if you need data.
Overall, a great place to stay for both Manchester and the Peak District – highly recommended.

"Lovely apartment in an excellent location"
We stayed in this apartment for a weekend in August.
The apartment itself is lovely, with everything you could need. It's well decorated and clean and has great views over the countryside from the living room. The owner (Alison) was extremely helpful and hospitable and provided all the little extras and things that you might forget when you go away (towels, shampoo, condiments, cleaning products etc) She also provided bread, milk and a bottle of wine on arrival- lovely touches.
The location of the apartment is excellent, especially if you want to be able to ditch the car whilst you're away. On the same street you have takeaways, chemist, bakery, butchers, chip shop (best fish and chips I've had for years!) newsagent, mini supermarket etc.
We visited 4 different pubs, all within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the apartment. We would particularly recommend The Anchor on Hadfield Road, which had karaoke on Friday night and a singer on Saturday night.
If you like cycling, the Longdendale trail starts about 2 minutes from your door. This is a trail that follows the path of a disused railway line. It is approximately 6.5 miles in each direction with lovely views of the reservoirs and moorland.
We chose to go further afield for walking, but I believe there are walks you can do straight from your door.
If you're staying for longer there are plenty more things to do and places to visit nearby.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this apartment (the apartment itself and the location) and would go back there myself. We had a great weekend. Thanks.

The Gables is a lovely and well furnished apartment, very easily accessible from the train station. There are lovely and quiet trails for walking nearby. Had a wonderful time and it was exactly what I was looking for in a holiday. The host, Alison, was warm and welcoming and very accommodating. Hope to be back soon.
