Spacious, luxuriously appointed apartment comprising of large comfortable lounge with flat screen TV, DVD/CD player. The dining area seats six guests comfortably and there is a fully equipped kitchen, with washing machine and dish-washer. Two large bedrooms with ample wardrobe space, master bedroom having its own en-suite.The family bathroom has a bath with shower over. Further sleeping for two on bed settee in living area.

The apartment is located on the 2nd floor, with lift access to all floors. The apartment is fully wheelchair- accessible.

There is private allocated parking for each apartment, access controlled by a remote control fob.

The town of Glossop itself has a wealth of restaurants ranging from Chinese to Italian, numerous public houses and a variety of shops. Directly opposite and within easy walking distance is a Tesco superstore and filling station.

Payment and Booking Terms

Payments can be made by a bank transfer directly to our account or via our PayPal account. If using PayPal, a 3% excess charge is incurred by us and this will be passed on to you. Details of our bank account or Paypal account will be provided on reservation .

A security deposit of £150 will be required as cleared funds in our account two weeks prior to commencement of stay. This will be refunded to you within 10 working days of your departure. Deductions from the security deposit include £50 for the keys and parking fob (if damaged or not returned). Other damage to the apartment fixtures or fittings, as outlined in the Terms & Conditions

A 25% deposit is required at time of booking, with the remainder (75%) payable eight weeks prior to commencement of stay.

Bookings within eight weeks of stay, full payment shall be required at time of booking.Please call at least one day prior to arrival to re-confirm your arrival and departure time. This will ensure the house-keeper is on site to give you information about the apartment (especially the appliances) and ensure you are aware of the safety information.

On arrival, our house-keeper will also provide you with a set of keys and a parking fob. If you are unable to hand the keys and fob to the house-keeper on your departure day, e.g. if you need to leave early, please put them in the apartment post box. The house-keeper will show you the location on your arrival.

Rates include all heating, lighting, hot water, etc. Bed linen and towels are provided but are not changed during your stay, except in emergency. Provision of each new set of clean bed linen or towels will incur a charge of £10.

About this location

The Derbyshire region

Glossop is a very old town, with settlement in this area for centuries. At Domesday there were twelve villages listed in the Glossop parish, which became the property of the monks of Basingwerk Abbey in North Wales. In the nineteenth century it was an important cotton mill town with one of the mills owned by Edmund Potter, the uncle of Beatrix Potter. Wren Nest Mill was built by Thomas Ellison in 1815 and was a thriving business for many years. It was converted into luxury apartments in 2004 / 2005.

The Peak District was Britain's first National Park, with protected landscapes and wildlife. It straddles the border between the northern highland part of Britain and the southern lowland counties. The landscape changes from rolling farmland and forest in the south to high gritstone moorland, an area which changes dramatically with the weather, but always with a stark beauty. There are few areas in the country where you can see such a varied landscape within a few miles.

The Peak District is the ideal place to escape for a vacation at any time of the year. Summer days are great for picnics and day trips, but most of the historic, cultural, sporting and fun attractions are open year-round and are all good reasons why visitors come to this amazing area.

Your stay at Wren Nest Mill offers wonderful gardens and manor houses to visit, a huge variety of sporting events and arts festivals, historic and friendly country pubs for lunch, shops to visit and plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling, riding, golf and other outdoor activities. In addition, some of the world famous cities such as Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and Liverpool are all easily reached by car or train for exciting days out.

Glossop

Glossop town centre caters for most shopping needs and has an indoor market, open Thursday to Saturday and an outdoor market open on Friday and Saturday. Some shops close early on Tuesdays. The Tesco supermarket is within 200 yards of the apartment and is open 24/7.

There is so much to do in the area that you will struggle to fit in everything within your vacation.

Glossop Heritage Centre is situated in Henry Street and hosts a range of regularly changing exhibitions which can include local history, arts and crafts as well as industrial heritage.

Manor Park, on the north of the town, is set in 60 acres of gardens, woodlands and lakes and offers crazy golf, putting, bowling and tennis as well as a miniature railway and children's playground. Howard Park, although smaller, is equally pleasant.

Glossop Brook runs through the centre of old Glossop making the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll. There is an interesting history trail around Old Glossop, which is also the location of "Doctors Gate", a footpath which leads up the Snake Pass and Pennine Way. If going up that way, drop in to the Snake Pass Inn, for a drink or meal with fantastic views of the moors.

Glossop Leisure Centre, located on the High Street, has squash courts, a climbing wall and large sports hall.

Like many local towns, Glossop has enthusiatic teams playing most sports, including Rugby Union, football and cricket. Go watch a match on Saturday or Sunday, and cheer them on. For international sport, Manchester has it all. Catch a train into the city centre and join thousands of other sports fans, cheering on world-famous teams.

Don't miss the fun and excitement of Glossop Carnival, which is held every year in Manor Park. In 2012, it takes place on 30th June and 1st. July.

For the energetic, there is world-renowned hiking and orienteering, as well as cycling, pony trekking, sailing, kayaking, trout fishing, tennis and golf, all within easy reach.

For culture-vultures, visit Chatsworth House, the home of Mr Darcy in the smash hit film, Pride and Prejudice, or Haddon Hall, a fortified medievel manor house, dating form the 12th Century and described as "the most perfect house to surviive from the Middle Ages". It too was featured in Pride and Prejudice.

Alternatively, take time to look round Hardwick Hall, whose interiors are among the most exciting in England, with a magnificent collection of tapestries and needlework, and 300 acres of gardens, park and meadows.

For cinemas, theatre, ballet, opera, check out the local Amateur Dramtaic clubs or watch global stars, from opera singers to heavy metal rock bands, in the many theatres of Manchester.
