The County Antrim region
Glenariff or Waterfoot is at the foot of possibly the most famous of Antrims Glens. The beach is a long strip of sand in a wide bay with an old ruined pier on the south side, and a popular fishing pier to the north.
The Glens are officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and are a major visitor attraction in North Antrim.
Five minutes drive from Glenariff forest park. The Waterfall Walkway has been significantly upgraded along its 3 mile length which passes through a National Nature Reserve.
Three stunning waterfalls provide a rich backdrop for photographers, as do the other forest trails that offer panoramic landscapes and peaceful riverside walks.
On the popular Causeway Coastal Route which runs to Ballycastle, Ballintoy, Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle and much more.
Glens of Antrim
Waterfoot is a pretty and bustling coastal village, with small shops, cosy local pubs and a modern play park for children.
It is one mile from Cushendall, another very pretty seaside village with many attractions including a popular golf course, sailing club, and waterspouts facilities
The nearest big town is Ballymena, a 20 minute drive away. It boasts a number of shopping centres, major retail shops and chains, cinema, bowling and leisure facilities.
A festival takes place in Cushendall and Waterfoot every August, but the date varies year on year.
