The Province of Leinster region

Glenmalure Valley, the longest glacial valley in Ireland. It is within easy reaching distance of many of the main landmarks. Glenmalure is a classic U-shaped valley that displays many features of glacial erosion such as the hanging valley of Fraughan Rock Glen and the two corrie lakes of Kelly's Lough and Art's Lough. Perched above the entire valley is Lugnaquilla, which is the highest mountain in Leinster.

Glenmalure

This luxury lodge is set within a small development of Scandinavian log cabins, 2 miles from the pretty village of Rathdrum, and approximately 1 hour from Dublin, offering uninterrupted views of the stunning Glenmalure Valley. Spacious, yet warm and cosy, the cabin has 2 en suite bedrooms and the lounge has a large solid fuel stove, vaulted ceiling, TV, DVD with a selection of movies. Relax and unwind on the lodge's large partially-covered deck which is equipped with gas bbq, and comfortable outdoor seating. For those seeking an activity holiday there is an 18-hole golf course on site, as well as hill walking, trout fishing, cycling, white water kayaking and many other outdoor sports nearby.

Glenmalure Golf Club (on site) is a delightful 18 hole moorland course which offers a testing but fair challenge to both high and low handicap golfers. The breathtaking Glenmalure valley and the beauty of Lugnaquilla can be viewed in their full glory from many vantage points around the course. Features include a double green, stone walls, ditches and numerous natural hazards. The club welcomes guest seven days a week.
