Experience what it is like to live in Edinburgh staying in an apartment full of character in one of the best locations in the city. A 10 minute stall through the historic district will take you to the Castle, the High Street the Grassmarket and the most important landmarks in Edinburgh.
Enjoy the cosmopolitan ambiance of one of the most desirable districts of this city and join the locals in the numerous pubs, restaurants and cafes. In the evenings practice some golf shots in the oldest links short course in Scotland just across the road.
In the bedroom has one of the best views in town. In it you will find a very comfortable double bed, wardrobe, and chest of drawers, TV and a sitting area. The kitchen is full fitted and equipped with all mod cons, (washing machine, cooker, microwave, and dinning table and chairs), and in the living room there is a comfy sofa to relax on! The flat has central heating and wifi throughout. Linens and towels will be provided for your stay. This is really the perfect place to stay when you are visiting Edinburgh!

The property is very spacious with lots of light and space. It has a log fire next to a panoramic window where you can enjoy the ever changing landscape of Skye. The furniture is modern, comfortable and designed to make our guests feel relaxed and at home.
The accommodation comprises a 21st century spacious, open-plan living and kitchen area has a spiral staircase leading to a semi-open-plan gallery bedroom. The accommodation also comprises a modern stylish bathroom with underfloor heating and heated towel rail and a utility room.

The cottage sits in a large wild garden with a small stream running throughj it, The garden enjoys a fantastic view of the sea and the cliffs of Skye. It is located in one of the best areas of Skye to see wild life.
The steep cliffs of Glendale are home to thousands of sea birds and this area is undoubtedly the best place on Skye for seeing whales, dolphins, porpoises and basking shark.Seals bask on the skerries in Loch Pooltiel at low tide. Otters can be seen fishing for sea urchins. Sea eagles, golden eagles, buzzards, merlins and kestrels all nest nearby.
Glendale is also renowned for its striking displays of wild flowers, with meadows carpetted with bluebells, orchids, violets and primroses.
The absence of light pollution makes Glendale an amazing place to watch the Night Sky, with the Milky Way clearly visible overhead after dark and Shooting Stars streaking overhead.
On Autumn and Spring nights, when conditions are right, the Aurora Borealis provides an awesome and very beautiful spectacle over Loch Pooltiel.

The Hebrides / Skye / Isle of Skye region
Glendale has many of Skye's major tourist attractions close at hand. These include:
* Dunvegan Castle, with its landscaped gardens, the famous Fairy Flag, and Seal Boat Trips.
* Neist Point, with its Lighthouse and unusual rock formations resembling the Giants' Causeway.
* The Toy Museum, Skye Silver, Colbost Croft Museum, Borreraig Park Piping Centre, The Raven Press, The Glendale Martyrs Monument and The Three Chimneys restaurant.
* At Claigan, you can enjoy the beautiful, white sands at the Coral Beaches.
* The magnificent mountain-ridge of the Cuillins and the breath-taking, turquoise-blue Fairy Pools are just a 45 minute drive away.
* Dun Beag, Skye's best preserved Broch, can be explored at Struan.
* In the deserted village beside Galtrigill you can sit upon the Manners Stone, which is reputed to bestow good manners upon those who do so.
The Glendale / Milovaig area
At the heart of Glendale is the post office and village shop, together with a community centre.
Skye's finest restaurant, the acclaimed Three Chimneys, which is amongst the top 100 in the UK, is to be found at Colbost, one of Glendale's Eastern-most townships.
The extremely popular Old School House restaurant at Dunvegan is just at 20 minute drive away.
Fresh sea-food can be bought directly from the local fishermen who operate out of Meanish Pier in Milovaig.
Glendale is only a 50 minute drive from the island’s capital at Portree.

By Car
Stay on the A87. Take the road A850 to Dunvegan.
As you approach Dunvegan turn left onto the A863 (Direction Sligachan). Pass the shops, the garage, the “School House” restaurant and the medical practice until you reach Lonmore and take the B884 (single track road) to the right for 8.5 miles to Glendale.
Follow the B884 straight through Glendale (direction Waterstein/Neist Point). Pass the Glen Stores on your right and then the Borrodale Primary School. After the Ramasaig junction (follow direction Waterstein/Milovaig) you’ll pass a sign for “13 Upper Milovaig” on your right.
An Acarsaid is the next house on your right, just before the “Waterstein 1 mile/Neist Point lighthouse 3 miles” junction & the Carter’s Rest B&B. Please note that there is a gate at the entrance of the cottage.
By Train
Trains operate between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh and Fort William and Mallaig and you will be guaranteed fantastic views of ever-changing landscapes and seascapes, whatever the season. Scotrail also have a sleeper service that comes to Fort William, Inverness and Glasgow and allows connections to Skye by bus or Kyle of Lochalsh by train.

Skye can be reached by coach from Inverness and Fort William, which have good links to other parts of Scotland. Local buses are also operated within the area.
