"Fabulous property, perfect for a hen party."

After searching long and hard for the perfect property for a chilled out hen do, I struck upon this one. Clean and spacious accommodation, extensive and well maintained grounds, private hot tub and sauna and a sunny shared pool that we had all to ourselves. There was even a field that could host outdoor activities such as archery so no travelling involved. Add to that a wonderful pub within walking distance with a lovely private room and you have yourself the perfect set up for a fuss free country retreat, would definitely recommend!

"Just what we wanted"

Perfect accommodation to suit all family members from 3 months to 70. Very well appointed accommodation and superbly comfortable. We had planned to go out for the day but by the time we'd been for a local walk, had a swim, used the hot tub................... the day had gone!

"Lovely accommodation with great amenities"

The Threshing and Apple barns provided roomy and comfortable accommodation for a large family holiday of 9 adults, 2 children and 3 dogs. The facilities were ideal to keep the kids happy and even thought the weather wasn't brilliant the pool was still warm enough to keep the youngsters amused for hours. The walks directly from the back of the property were great for the dogs and meant we could pick up papers and fresh bread etc from the local friendly shop. The kitchens are very well appointed with everything you could need (including 2 dishwashers in the large barn), a godsend when catering for a large group! Log burners in each of the barns created a lovely warm relaxing atmosphere in the evening and made up for the lacking British weather.

"Great countryside retreat"

We rented both the threshing barn and apple barn for a weekend away with friends. Both properties were extremely well presented, with mostly generous sized rooms and great facilities. The outside space is also lovely, with enough room to sit outside with a glass of wine or throw a ball around on the lawn. Great for friends or families alike. Ate in the Devonshire Arms which also comes highly recommended. The owners allowed both our cat and dog to come and they had a great stay too!

"Perfect for my partners 30th birthday"

We stayed for a long weekend, all adults for my partners 30th. The barns were perfect for us and we enjoyed several meals around the large dinning room
Table and relaxing evenings in the hot tub.

The local area was charming and we walked to 3 pubs nearby and went shooting at podimore shooting school, which I highly recommend.
Overall a fantastic weekend and Gill was very helpful in the organisation.

"Home from Home"

The best review we can give this wonderful place is that we only live a mile away but chose to stay with family and friends under one roof!! There is nothing missing - from home comforts to entertainment. As a large group with a diverse age range, there was something for everyone. Plenty of space for us all to group and space for those quiet moments required by the elders! We are bias as we know the area very well, but our guests were very impressed by the information about "what's on and available".
We will definitely use Upton Barn again as it was so lovely to finish the stay knowing we had no washing to do after everyone has left. It was a fabulous relaxing time!

"Spacious, warm, well equipped, great for large parties a home from home"

There were 14 of us and 6 well behaved dogs (which at many holiday lets would not be accepted) and we rented out Threshing Barn and Apple Barn. We were welcomed by the owners on arrival and shown how to use the jacuzzi and sauna. Both barns were very well equipped and everyone commented on how extremely comfortable the beds were. Overall both barns gave that 'home from home' feeling - wish we could have stayed longer. As the weather wasn't fabulous (being January) we had pre-booked home-cooked food (recommended to us by the owners), this food was fabulous, big portions and very very tasty, so glad we did this as all we had to do was pop it all in the oven (and even the cooking instructions were provided). The walks from the barns are lovely (although due to the flooding some tracks were im-passable) that didn't stop the dogs, they loved all the open fields and tracks, but more so retrieving sticks from the flooded tracks!! Parking at the barns was good (we had 4 cars which were easily parked). We would definitely recommend to friends and other family members and we would all love to go back and do it all again, maybe this time we will go when the sun is out and we can use the pool.
