Within 20 minutes you can visit Glastonbury with its Tor, Abbey and unusual shops and restaurants, Street with its Factory outlet shopping, several wildlife sanctuaries, langport, Somerton, multiple National Trust houses and open gardens, Haynes Motor Museum, The Fleet Air Arm Museum etc etc. The area is also full of local Cider Farms that can be visited(& sampled) as well as a farm shop within a mile, a local smokery and several local butchers, greenbrocers and delis.

"Home from Home"

The best review we can give this wonderful place is that we only live a mile away but chose to stay with family and friends under one roof!! There is nothing missing - from home comforts to entertainment. As a large group with a diverse age range, there was something for everyone. Plenty of space for us all to group and space for those quiet moments required by the elders! We are bias as we know the area very well, but our guests were very impressed by the information about "what's on and available".
We will definitely use Upton Barn again as it was so lovely to finish the stay knowing we had no washing to do after everyone has left. It was a fabulous relaxing time!

"Spacious, warm, well equipped, great for large parties a home from home"

There were 14 of us and 6 well behaved dogs (which at many holiday lets would not be accepted) and we rented out Threshing Barn and Apple Barn. We were welcomed by the owners on arrival and shown how to use the jacuzzi and sauna. Both barns were very well equipped and everyone commented on how extremely comfortable the beds were. Overall both barns gave that 'home from home' feeling - wish we could have stayed longer. As the weather wasn't fabulous (being January) we had pre-booked home-cooked food (recommended to us by the owners), this food was fabulous, big portions and very very tasty, so glad we did this as all we had to do was pop it all in the oven (and even the cooking instructions were provided). The walks from the barns are lovely (although due to the flooding some tracks were im-passable) that didn't stop the dogs, they loved all the open fields and tracks, but more so retrieving sticks from the flooded tracks!! Parking at the barns was good (we had 4 cars which were easily parked). We would definitely recommend to friends and other family members and we would all love to go back and do it all again, maybe this time we will go when the sun is out and we can use the pool.

"Excellent in Every Way - First Class!"

From the moment we booked the Barn, the owners could not have been more helpful with sending us emails on really useful tips for our stay. We had our mother in law staying with us and Gill went out of her way to make sure the accommodation would suite our needs - nothing was too much trouble. The Barn is absolutely outstanding immaculately clean, and the owners have taken so much time to detail. We have stayed in lots of self catering accommodation and this one certainly is the best ! There is everything in the Barn that offers a home from home experience with nothing being missed! We have never stayed in a place where everything has been covered! We would certainly go back there again and stay in any other of the other properties the owners own as their standard is amazing ! If they ever offer long term rentals we would definitely want to be first on the list! There are lovely walks nearby and love places to eat. We particularly liked the Market Bar and The White Hart in Somerton and the Half Way House which you could walk to from the Barn. This area is absolutely beautiful in every way from the countryside, wildlife and the people were so friendly - we enjoyed so much we would even consider moving here! Thank you to the owners, Gill & Simon, for offering such excellent accommodation - the accommodation you offer people is an absolute credit to you !

"Wonderful holiday in fabulous place"

We stayed here for a week in August and booked all three cottages for a family holiday and celebration. On arrival Gill had left cake and tea, which was very welcome after a hot drive, and was enjoyed in the garden while we waited for the shopping to arrive. The Threshing Barn was wonderful and very well equipped with everything needed as well as being spotlessly clean with comfy beds, a huge living room and great kitchen/ dining room, where we enjoyed family meals with 14 of us sitting around the table. My only request is that a few hand towels for the bathrooms would be useful. My Aunt, Uncle and Cousin from the States stayed in the Apple barn and my parents stayed in the little Cider Barn, these were also beautifully converted and had everything necessary for self catering.

The solar heated pool and the hot tub were great and we took advantage of the good weather using them every day.

There are lots of lovely walks nearby and we had a fabulous meal at the Halfway House pub, which is a short walk away, and had a great variety of delicious curries (including Goat) and other more traditional pub grub!!

There are lots of attractions nearby including Wookey Hole, Glastonbury, and Wells, and the nearby town of Langport was very pretty, with a great bakery.

All in all a great holiday was had by all.
