The West Country region
The little village of Baltonsborough, birthplace of St Dunstan, is ideally placed in an area of outstanding natural beauty. From here you can explore the stunning Levels and Moors – Home to otters, water voles and a host of other wildlife. For those who are interested in coarse fishing, we are spoilt for choice with a variety of swims. (Glaston Manor Angling Association ) Barely 3 miles away is the ancient town of Glastonbury, overlooked by Glastonbury Tor with St Michael’s Tower on top. Here you can find the medieval Abbey, the Chalice Well & Gardens, the Glastonbury Thorn and the Rural Museum of Somerset. Close by is ‘that most poetic of English Cathedrals’ in Wells and the 800 year old Bishop’s Palace.
Not forgetting Montacute House & Gardens, Haynes International Motor Museum and The East Somerset Steam Railway. There is the famous gorge and caves at Cheddar and Wookey Hole, and for a serious discount shopping experience there is the outlet village at Clarks in Street.
This is a superb area for a memorable holiday at any time of year.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry all the goodies and cake that greeted your arrival were only 4 stars and that our being here upon your arrival with the key was slightly problematic. I'm sorry we can't do much about the English road system and our winding lanes. We provided many maps and there is a whole network of footpaths with an array of places to walk to! We hope you give our beautiful county another chance. Cathie and Graham

"Superb apartment in beautiful location"
My wife and I have just returned from a glorious few days at Pipers Meadow and cannot speak too highly of the quality of the accommodation and the very warm welcome we received from our generous hosts Graham and Cathie. The garden is a delight with a wide variety of wildlife and the terrace receives the sun from mid morning until late evening. The welcome pack was absolutely wonderful with homemade cakes and preserves, bread, butter and cheese etc.Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and they went out of their way to make our holiday as pleasant as possible. We have very intention of returning sometime in the not too distant future.
Thank you Gail and Mick-we hope to meet you again soon
