Enquire nowThe West Country / Somerset region
Somerset is a county full of historical interest and places to visit. Based in the centre of Somerset, Glastonbury makes an ideal base from which to explore. Day trips from Glastonbury could feature Bath in the north, Stonehenge to the east, the Quantock Hills to the west and the Jurassic coast to the south... plus everything in between!
Just 20 minutes from the M5, Glastonbury makes a good base for touring the region, whilst having some very special attractions of its own.
The Glastonbury area
It is no wonder that Glastonbury Tor is on the cover of "The Most Amazing Places to Visit in Britain".
It just has to be climbed! And this apartment is well situated for a lazy amble or a brisk jog to the top, which ever is your style!
Glastonbury Abbey was once the largest and richest in the land, and before the dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII, owned land down to the south coast. Full of history and intrigue, it is just around the corner.
The Somerset Levels have some of the most beautiful wetland in Britain, with amazing wild life and birds. The countryside around Glastonbury is stunning.
Glastonbury has a long history of myth and magic. King Arthur's story is based around Glastonbury, and it is believed that he and Guin were buried in the Abbey grounds.
Glastonbury High Street is completely unique... a mix of old town shops, interspersed with the more exotic and spiritual. Many have come here drawn to the famous Glastonbury Festivals and stayed on... it definitely has a style of its own!
If you want to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants, pubs and coffee shops with in the town. Sit and watch the world go by. Or drive a few minutes to some lovely country pubs and restaurants.
We are conveniently placed for your self-catering needs. Just round the corner we have a supermarket, as well as independent butcher, baker, green grocer and fantastic health food shop in the High Street and there is a weekly market.
