About this location
The Somerset region
Somerset is a county full of historical interest and places to visit. Based in the centre of Somerset, Glastonbury makes an ideal base from which to explore. Day trips from Glastonbury could feature Bath in the north, Stonehenge to the east, the Quantock Hills to the west and the Jurassic coast to the south... plus everything in between!
Just 20 minutes from the M5, Glastonbury makes a good base for touring the region, whilst having some very special attractions of its own.
It is no wonder that Glastonbury Tor is on the cover of "The Most Amazing Places to Visit in Britain".
It just has to be climbed! And this apartment is well situated for a lazy amble or a brisk jog to the top, which ever is your style!
Glastonbury Abbey was once the largest and richest in the land, and before the dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII, owned land down to the south coast. Full of history and intrigue, it is just around the corner.
The Somerset Levels have some of the most beautiful wetland in Britain, with amazing wild life and birds. The countryside around Glastonbury is stunning.
Glastonbury has a long history of myth and magic. King Arthur's story is based around Glastonbury, and it is believed that he and Guin were buried in the Abbey grounds.
Glastonbury High Street is completely unique... a mix of old town shops, interspersed with the more exotic and spiritual. Many have come here drawn to the famous Glastonbury Festivals and stayed on... it definitely has a style of its own!
If you want to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants, pubs and coffee shops with in the town. Sit and watch the world go by. Or drive a few minutes to some lovely country pubs and restaurants.
We are conveniently placed for your self-catering needs. Just round the corner we have a supermarket, as well as independent butcher, baker, green grocer and fantastic health food shop in the High Street and there is a weekly market.

"A fabulous stay, first class"
We were warmly welcomed by our hosts on arrival and our stay just continued to get better throughout. A lovely afternoon tea was served on our first day. The accommodation was great, very clean, cosy and to a high standard. The location was fab, central Glastonbury, but in its own little haven of peace and quiet. The private parking was really handy. Overall, a great stay, we hope to visit again!

We have recently taken over this property. We are pleased that the reviewer enjoyed their stay and are sorry that they are unable to return due to the price increase of £5 per person per night which had been put in place by the previous owner. We do not intend altering the pricing structure at this time but are looking to provide added value to the stay.

"Fantastic accommodation in heart of Glastonbury!"
Greenhill House Studio is a little gem of a place situated just across the road from Glastonbury Abbey in the heart of the town. It provides the 'best of both worlds' as it's a short stroll to the shops & pubs yet provides a very quiet and private retreat. It is well appointed with ample cooking facilities (Morrisons 2 minutes walk), flat screen TV, WI-FI and a wonderful luxury bathroom. Judy is a charming, friendly host and really provides a genuine welcome which makes you feel immediately at home. The studio is fantastic value for money...stay there - you won't be disappointed!!

"A little gem in the centre of Glastonbury"
My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at the Greenhill House Studio in Glastonbury.
Overall it was a lovely place to stay - and the weather was pretty good as well! The owners Judy and Graham are both very friendly and happy to help, and the building itself is a real surprise too. It is located just off the main road into the town centre, so everything is within 5-10min walk whilst in a quiet location as well. The Tor could be reached in 30-40min by foot as well depending on your speed, although there is a useful bus service which can be caught approx 2min walk from the flat.
The studio is massive to be honest! It is very well furnished and has three distinct areas; the lounge/diner, kitchen and bedroom area. The bathroom was excellent too and had both a fitted shower and bath. You also have an excellent view out onto the gardens as well which makes for a nice relaxing time.
In terms of the self-catering part of the stay, there were lots of options available nearby. Plenty of cafes and restaurants are within 5min walk, and there's also a Morrisons supermarket just round the corner if you want to rattle stuff up yourself.
We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to being able to visit again in the future!
