The Barton Annexe is a single storey self-contained property with own access and entrance. Situated in a quiet village location, minutes from the A303 and A37. It is an ideal holiday base from which to tour this lovely part of England. Easy driving distance from many places to visit including Glastonbury, Street (Clark's Village), Wells, Taunton, Bristol, Bath, Castle Cary, Longleat, Yeovilton and both coastlines are about an hour's drive away. Ideally situated for access to the Bath & West Showground which hosts many events throughout the year.
There are several National Trust properties nearby including Montacute, Lytes Carey and Stourhead and close to the Somerset Levels with famous RSPB reserves and Willow Centre, and Mendip Hills and much more!
The Annexe has central heating, an equipped kitchen with a two ring electric hob, fridge and microwave. There is a walk-in shower, hand basin and separate WC. The main living area has a dining table with seating for 4, colour TV/DVD, 2 easy chairs and sofa bed. The curtained off bedroom area beyond has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and twin beds which can be locked together to make a king size double bed. The property sleeps 2 people comfortably but there is a sofa bed for extra accommodation. A small charge will be made for its use.
Outside there is ample off road parking for cars and secure bike storage. Adjacent to the Annexe there is outside seat with table and chairs for guests' use. Facilities for washing and drying clothes are available.
Prices for two persons, self catering, includes linen, towels and heating. Complimentary tea, coffee and milk on arrival.

The West Country region
Somerset is a beautiful County in the the South West of England, with a magnificent Landscape of Hills, Vales and Moors.
The extreme West of the County has Exmoor National Park with the Coastal Town of Minehead and the nearby West Somerset Railway, operating between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard. The Quantock and Blackdown Hills surround the fertile Vale of Taunton, while further East the wide expanse of the Somerset Levels with the RSPB Reserves are divided by the Polden Hills.
To the North of the County are the beautiful Mendip Hills with the World Famous Cheddar Gorge located in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty giving us the wonderful Ciders and world renowned Cheddar Cheese
Somerset is a County with a rich heritage and history giving us many interesting places to visit.
East Lydford is a small village just off the A37 which has a thriving Pub, Post Office, Mini Supermarket and Garage.
It is about a 15-20 minute drive from the famous town of Glastonbury with its many Cafes, Shops and Tor.
Castle Cary and Somerton, both Medieval Towns are about 10 minutes drive away. Lydford is a very good base to explore the many Historical and interesting places nearby e.g Wells Cathedral, Bath, Bristol, Glastonbury, Street, Taunton, Stonhenge etc...................
There are several National Trust Properties nearby including Montacute House and Stourhead.
The North Somerset Coast is within an hours drive and the South with the famous Jurassic Coast is also within an hour
The Annexe is set in a quiet position ideal for relaxing, walking or cycling or using the nearby Golf Course ( 5 minutes ) and Fishing
