There is an extensive library of books and DVD's for all ages and interests. Free WIFI.
Superb views of Glastonbury Tor and the beautiful and peaceful grounds of Glastonbury Abbey. Within short walking distance of all sights and the High Street. Moonstone Cottage has a wonderful atmosphere, it is very cosy, clean and welcoming, offering all you could ever wish for during your stay in Glastonbury. Enjoy a drink or a meal on the raised stone terrace at the end of the gardens which overlooks the Abbey grounds. St John's Church tower (in the High Street) and Abbey ruins are visible across the Abbey Grounds in the winter, when the views are spectacular.
Two bedroomed ambient accommodation - 1 x double, 1 x twin bunk, plus double sofa bed in lounge.
Flexible Accommodation for 1-4 (max 6, at a push!). Ideal for couples or families. Sleeps 4 in comfort and individual beds.
Rustic lounge with thick walls, wood burner and plenty of candles. Comfortable furniture and cosy atmosphere with all mod cons at your finger tips.
The wall between the lounge and kitchen was once the boundary of the Abbey grounds. The Victorians extended this row of cottages, added gardens and built a new wall at the end of the garden. The sofa leans against the original Abbey boundary today.
DVDs, books and toys available. 26" flat screen digital TV with DVD player. Digital Radio. Stereo system and a selection of music CDs. Local information & maps provided, postcards and greeting cards available for purchase. Wireless broadband provided.
The kitchen is so well equipped, we doubt you will find it lacking in anything. Containers and thermos bottle available for your picnics, and a shopping bag on wheels should you be car-less. Dishwasher, fridge & freezer, fan oven, microwave, electric hand blender, coffee maker, coffee percolator, cafetiere, tea pots, cheese slicers etc.
Beautiful garden, two private suntrap patios, lawns and benches, grapevines and roses. Beyond the old stone wall at the end of the garden lie the stunning grounds of Glastonbury Abbey. Relax on the raised stone terrace at the end of the garden, overlooking the Abbey Grounds, listen to the ducks quacking by the ponds. In summer the views over the duck pond are leafy and green, in autumn and winter the views over the Abbey grounds are quite spectacular. The 1st floor bathroom and 2nd bedroom overlook the Abbey grounds.
We are situated across the road from the Rural Life Museum, and 4 minutes walk from the Chalice Well Gardens and footpaths to the Tor, within walking distance of all attractions and the High Street.
We pride ourselves on CLEANLINESS. Our vacuum has HEPA filtration (ultimate filtration for allergy sufferers).

|Further details indoors|
The cottage was sympathetically restored in 2010. The upstairs has white painted floor boards and rugs, the stairs and lounge are carpeted and the kitchen has an easy clean hard floor. The conservatory has a terracotta tiled floor.
I suffer from dust allergy, so you are assured of a high standard of cleanliness. Both the vacuum for guest use and our own has advanced Hepa filtration, and mattress protector covers are aired between each guest and frequently washed! Pillows are synthetic, duvets are 'like down' Microfibre. The double bed has a lush memory foam topper (received much praise). If you prefer 100% cotton sheets, just ask (we use both mixtures and pure cotton ones).
We have recently moved next door so are available at any hour if you need us. Moonstone Cottage has a very special atmosphere, and people say 'it's the sort of place one never wants to leave'.
|Further details outdoors|
The garden is divided into three sections, first the patio by the kitchen with table & chairs, then lawns, shrubs, roses, swing seat under the grapevine, sun loungers, and finally (through the grapevine arch), the third section with a raised stone terrace, table and benches overlooking the stunning Abbey Grounds.
There is a log shed, logs are available for purchase during autumn and winter. You can bring your own, but only seasoned hardwood logs are accepted firewood. The Norwegian Jotul Wood Stove is so efficient, it heats up the whole cottage. There is central heating as well, and the cottage is toasty and warm even during the severe cold snaps we've had in 2011 and 2012. Some of our guests prefer to use only the wood burner, and some prefer to use only the central heating. It's up to you.
The Somerset region
The West of England is a major holiday destination, offering the best of British countryside along with delightful towns and seaside resorts.
Glastonbury has long served as the Mecca of the British Isles, representing all faiths and traditions, an eclectic and interesting town, steeped in history, myth and legend. Allegedly the burial place of King Arthur (just accross the stone wall at the end of the garden of Moonstone Cottage), at Glastonbury Abbey. Glastonbury Abbey was once the largest and most important in the British Isles, and a place of pilgrimage.
Before the sea water was pumped off the levels to provide fertile agricultural land, Glastonbury was 'The Isle of Avalon', lower parts of this town were once under water. Glastonbury Tor is the famous landmark of the area, visible from afar accross the level landscape of Somerset. Tthe Chalice Well gardens and Rural Life Museum are major visitor attractions, and Glastonbury High Street is lined with cafes, restaurants and quirky shops. The cathedral City of Wells lies just 5 miles away, and shoppers will delight in the variety offered by nearby Clarks Village in the town of Street.
Last but not least - in addition to being eclectic, cosmopolitan, unusul and quirky, Glastonbury is a wonderfully friendly town.
