The Central Scotland / Strathclyde / Lanarkshire/Glasgow region

Situated at the foot of Banton Loch which is part of the Colzium Country Park Estate providing fishing, country walks and children’s outdoor play area on your doorstep. The nearby Forth and Clyde canal network is only a 5 minute walk and is overlooked by the Antonine Wall, a world heritage site. This beautiful waterway leads East to the Falkirk Wheel and beyond. For those planning to head further afield the motorway network is only a 5 minute drive away and provides fast easy access to Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow, plus Loch Lomond and the Trossacs.
Stirlng is approx 15 minutes by car and as the old Capital of Scotland is a must see for History lovers. Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and the Battle of Bannockburn site.
Glasgow takes about 20 minutes and is now one of the top cities in the UK for shoppers. Buchannan Street, Sauchiehall Street and Argyle Street are always busy. Other attractions are the Burrel Museum, Art Galleries, New Transport Museum and if time is limited we would recommend the Peoples Palace on Glasgow Green.
Edinburgh is again reached directly by motorway in 30 - 40 minutes. Princes Street, the Royal Mile and The Castle are the popular and impressive sights.
Loch Lomond National Park takes about 45 minutes for some of the best scenery in Scotland. A selection of cruises are available or private boal hire if you prefer. Loch Lomond is very large so allow plenty of time or for a shorter cruise try Loch Katrine.
The Glasgow / Kilsyth area
Kilsyth offers an excellent choice of traditional family owned shops and two well stocked supermarkets.Welcoming Pubs and Restaurants to suit all ages and pockets.
The Swan Inn is a 15 minute walk along the side of Banton Loch where you will recieve a warm welcome with good food at reasonable prices or just a friendly drink.
For younger visitors there is a Swimming Pool in Kilsyth and not far away Adventure Planet indoor activity centre, M & B's Amusement Park, Blair Drummond Safari Park and Deepsea World.
