Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 3
Our building was originally designed by Robert Adam in 1790 and 200 years later restored and divided into six self-contained flats by the National Trust for Scotland. The business has been owned and personally supervised by Simon Leslie-Carter since 1989.
Located in Glasgow city centre, between London Road and Glasgow Green and close by the Merchant City our six 1- and 2-bedroomed apartments provide our guests with a spacious and private alternative to a hotel room.
Our prices are highly competitive compared to those charged by hotels of at least equal quality, and we make no extra charge for housekeeping, electricity, linen, WiFi or parking.
At Number 52 Charlotte Street you can live (and work) at your own pace, come and go as you please, and enjoy the space and independence of a real home from home.
An extra single bed or guest bed can be set up in sitting/dining room. To provide independent sleeping arrangements, we can easily convert the bedroom and the sitting/dining room to provide two separate bed/sitting rooms, while sharing the kitchen and bathroom facilities.
We also have cots and high chairs for young children, who are very welcome.
Each flat free WiFi internet access, Freeview television and a DVD player, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, bath and shower, individually controlled electric heating and entry phone security. We have our own, free, off-street parking behind our building.
We no longer provide a direct dial telephone in the flats, but can provide a mobile/cell phone on free loan.
We do not serve meals (although we provide a welcome pack of tea, coffee, fresh milk and fruit, or can buy in your groceries for your arrival) but each kitchen is fully equipped to provide anything from a snack to a full meal and there are many excellent and varied restaurants and café/bars within a short walk.
For groceries, Marks & Spencer with its large food hall is just 10 minutes walk away on Argyle Street, with a Tesco Express open 7 days from 0700 to 2300 5 minutes away on High Street and a new Morrison's supermarket equally close on Gallowgate.
Your housekeepers, May Adams and/or Ellen Baillie, are on duty every morning from 1030 (except Christmas Day and New Year's Day) to service your flat, including bed making, regular linen change, washing-up, dusting, polishing, vacuum cleaning and rubbish removal.
We are happy to arrange for a baby sitting/child watching service and a secretarial service including fax and Email.
Unless you are proposing to make frequent trips into the countryside (and Glasgow is an excellent base from which to visit Edinburgh and all parts of South, West and Central Scotland), you will probably find it unnecessary to have your own transport. Public transport in and around the city - bus, taxi, train or underground - is efficient, frequent, inexpensive and close: at Charlotte Street you are within a few minutes walk of bus routes, cab ranks and train stations.
