Located in a quiet residential street in Glasgow's West End near Hyndland Road and Byres road, this modernized ground floor apartment in a traditional red sandstone tenement block is less than 5 minutes walk from shops, and many cafes and restaurants. Cottiers Theatre and restaurant is at the end of the road ! and a 15 min walk takes you to many tourist attractions eg Botanic Gardens, University Avenue. Bus and subway connections to the city centre, train stations and airport are also within a 5 minute walk.

The apartment features two double bedrooms (a 5 ft bed in the main bedroom), a fully fitted kitchen, a comfortable lounge and dining area and a modern bathroom. An additional fold down bed suitable for a child is also available and a high chair. Facilities include digital tv, wifi and a washing machine. The apartment has double glazed windows and gas-fired central heating. The kitchen is fitted with oven, hob, grill & microwave, fridge/freezer and all necessary utensils, pots & plates. Our guests will always find coffee, tea & sugar and biscuits in the cupboards. Bed linen and towels are included in the price.

The Glasgow region

Glasgow, Scotland's largest city has become an increasingly popular destination. Its many attractions and vibrant social scene make it a great choice for a city break.and its excellent transport links make it a good centre from which to explore West and Central Scotland.

Loch Lomond with its stunning scenery is only 14 miles north of Glasgow, the largest freshwater loch/lake in Britain it offers a range of water sports as well as relaxing cruises.Beyond Loch Lomond are the Trossachs and the dramatic scenery of the Highlands. Glencoe,Oban and Fort William are all easily reached for a day trip.

To the Southwest the Inverclyde coastal towns offer spectacular panoramas accross the Clyde Estuary to the Argyll hills.Further down the coast Ayrshire is famous for it's beaches, golf courses and as the home of Robert Burns.

South of Glasgow is the Clyde Valley Tourist Route a scenic route to the upper reaches of the river Clyde and the World Heritage Site of New Lanark.

To the east the capital city Edinburgh with its famous castle, beautiful old town and atmospheric streets is easily reached in an hour by car, train or bus.

Glasgow

Glasgow has a year round buzz with a lively arts scene, the best shopping outside of London, a wide range of cultural activities, all against a backdrop of outstanding Victorian architecture.

One of Glasgow's most famous sons was the architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh whose influence can be seen throughout the city; Willow Tea Rooms, House for an Art Lover in Bellahouston Park and The Glasgow School of Art .These along with the World famous Kelvingrove Museum and Art Galleries and the Burrell collection make Glasgow a fantastic city for a short cultural break.

The main shopping centres are Buchanan Galleries, St Enoch Centre and the upmarket Princes Square and Italian Centre offering unique boutiques as well as major chains.There are also shopping Malls outside the city centre eg Braeside ,Silverburn.

Glasgow has many family friendly attractions eg the new Riverside Museum of Transport, Science Centre and its many large parks with good children's play areas.

THE WEST END

The apartment is ideally located to explore the stylish West End and to have quick easy access by bus or underground to the city centre. Caird Dr is only a few minutes from from Byres Rd, Hyndland Rd and Dumbarton Rd. Byres Rd is the hub of the West end and has a lively mix of cafes, bars, boutiques and restaurants .At the top of Byres Rd is the famous ORAN-MOR a thriving Art and Entertainment Venue and the Botanic Gardens with its lovely grounds and many glasshouses including the beautifully restored Kibble Palace. Further down Byres Rd is Ashton Lane where you will find a cinema,live music,great bars and renowned Ubiquitous Chip restaurant.

Amongst the many major tourist attractions within a comfortable 15 min walk from Caird Dr are Glasgow University, with Hunterian Museum and Mackintosh House, Kelvingrove Park and Kelvingrove Art Museum and the new Riverside Museum University all within in a comfortable walk,

"Very Comfortable Accommodation"

We stayed here at the end of May for 4 nights. Having been a student at Glasgow University some years ago this was a nostalgic trip and I was also celebrating my birthday. We could not have wished for better accommodation for our visit. The booking process was efficient and Fiona replied to e-mails promptly. Payment was easy and we received our damage deposit back quickly. We were arriving late on a Friday evening at half-term and we knew our journey would be a long one so we really appreciated Paulene coming to meet us with the keys. The flat is very well equipped, beautifully furnished and very clean and tidy. The wi-fi worked very well and was most welcome. The flat is very well located and close to many, many good restaurants and bars. I can recommend The Butchershop and No16 on Byres Rd where we had dinner on my birthday, both a comfortable walk from the flat. For breakfast try Cafe Gandolfi in town or Tribeca on Dumbarton Rd, just a short walk from the flat. It is very easy to get into town using the subway from either Byres Road or Partick. We were happy to have glorious sunshine for the majority of our stay which certainly added to our enjoyment. We ate out and came back late and it was lovely to have such a comfortable place to come back to for relaxation. We found the flat to be nice and quiet with no noise issues at all. The street can be busy for parking but a quick drive round meant we always found a space only a short walk away, if not right outside the front door. You don't need a car her to explore the city but we had driven from our home in Milton Keynes. We have relatives in the area but we loved having our own accommodation available and we will certainly be booking again when we next visit.

"Accommodation couldn't have been better!"

Stayed for one month at 21 Caird Drive. Location was amazing! Close to bus, shops, Byres Road, the University, the tube station, a local theatre, many restaurants and coffee shops, pubs etc The flat itself was modern, warm and comfortable. My 90 year old mom loved it too! We both felt we could just permanently move in! The kitchen was outfitted with all the necessary cooking supplies. Pauline did a super job of welcoming us and kindly drove me to the supermarket on the first day - thanks Pauline! Fiona is a most gracious owner and phoned us to make sure everything was ok. I can't say enough good things about our stay! Loved Glasgow! Loved the west end!

"Perfect!"

A great apartment. Very quiet but close enough to the hustle and bustle of Glasgow's West End. Paulene, who takes care of the flat, was the nicest and most helpful person. She even gave us books and dvds for the boys on those typical Glasgow summer's days! Apartment was perfect for our family and we'll definitely be back! Highly Recommended.
