Home description
This property is in a secluded, private, rural setting on a spectacular headland, at mouth of Glandore Harbour. There are stunning views on all sides. The house is open plan with a living room, kitchen, dining area, utility, WC and en suite master bedroom on the ground floor. Two further en suite bedrooms and a viewing balcony are on the upper floor. The closest villages are Glandore and Union Hall, where sea sports dominate the harbour. Fishing, sailing, wind surfing and superb seafood restaurants can be found here. Beautiful sandy beaches are close by, i.e. The Warren, Owenahincha. The closest local beach is a nice walk to Tralong just past Drombeg Stone Circle.
The local village of Glandore has a place in the hearts of visitors and local people alike. Although little more than one street, the village is acclaimed as one of the prettiest in Ireland. It is a favourite amongst the boating and sailing fraternity in summer. Its position in the path of the Gulf Stream ensures a mild climate all year round. Due to the location, plants can be found in bloom here even if they are out of season elsewhere. Glandore is one of the most sought after property locations in Ireland, with many Celebrities and Millionaires having homes in the area - mostly tempted by the sailing, golf and scenery.

West Cork provides a range of options that allow you to tailor your holiday to suit your personal needs and desires. From rejuvenating weekend breaks to action packed family holidays, the choice is yours, West Cork relaxes, entertains, invigorates…
Glandore has a mild climate all year due to the influence of the Gulf Stream. The summers are sunny and warm with drizzle and showers. This area is a sailor's paradise, any activity to do with sea and beaches, is available here. West Cork is renound for its beautiful scenery and rocky and beached coastline. There are so many beautiful inlets, headlands and harbours to visit that a lifetime of exploration could not uncover them all.
Glandore area
West Cork has been described as 'A Place Apart.' and Glandore is a popular location for those who appreciate the finer qualities in life. Cuan Doire – “Harbour of the Oaks” is one of the most picturesque villages in Ireland where people sit outside on lazy days and watch the world and the yachts go by. It boasts high hills, low mountains, rivers, streams, hidden valleys, soaring cliffs and sandy beaches and an ocean that is never far from view.
It is the ideal holiday destination. West Cork is also famous for its seafood restaurants. Glandore and Union Hall are no exception. You can prepare your own varied fresh fish cuisine daily due to the close proximity of a fish shop in Union Hall where the diverse local catch is available. (including prawns, scallops, crab lobster, John Dory, Turbot, Smoked Salmon etc). Grocery needs can be met in Union Hall or Leap and 8 miles takes you to Skibbereen town. Places of interest close to the house include Drombeg Stone Circle and Tralong Strand. Within driving distance is Roaring Water Bay, Baltimore town. Toe Head, Kilchrohane - to name just some of our favourites.
Rosscarbery has a hotel with a swimming pool and a park for children and further a field there is the Spa Hotel outside Clonakilty with a lovely beach called Inchadoney. In the direction beyond Skibbereen there is Barley Cove beach and if the weather is guaranteed it is worth bringing a barbeque and spending the day (1 hour)
