*Owners View on Present Situation in Egypt*
The political situation in Egypt has stabilised following the election of the new President. Life in Egypt has not changed at all.
Egypt is a beautiful country with guaranteed sunshine 365 days per year. The people are pleasant and peaceful always smiling although they are poor.
I saw no problems in either Cairo or Luxor on any of my visits, the most recent being January 2012.
Do not be put off by media reports, the people of Egypt depend on the revenue from the Suez Canal and tourists.
If you travel there, you will be very much welcome.
Best known for the Pyramids and Great Sphinx, Giza has much to offer the visitor. Located just to the south of the Great Pyramid is the Solar Barque Museum where you may find a fascinating insight into life in Ancient Egypt.
At shopping areas in nearby Kerdassa and Wissa Wassef Arts Centre there are workshops where you can purchase rugs, tapestries ceramics and batik fabrics.
Hotels in close proximity to the apartment offer, at a small cost, access to swimming pools. The apartment is close to a large Supermarket, a Metro Station is also nearby, as are local Banks.
As with many holiday destinations, a stay in a resort or large hotel, whilst very enjoyable, does not provide a real experience of the country or its people. The apartment situated where it is offers a chance to experience a more traditional side to the area. For example, for those prepared to haggle there are bargins to be had from the many small business's that are run from the ground floor of a family home. There are poultry shops, shoe makers, juice makers and even candlestick makers!
Mohamed is also able to organise tours and trips for you at a reasonable cost, prices available when you book.
ORFI MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
An orfi marriage certificate can be obtained on arrival at reasonable cost. This is not a legal marriage certificate but allows you the freedom to stay in an apartment or hotel room with your Egyptian fiance. It also helps to avoid confrontational encounters with the police if you are accompanied by your partner. Mohamad, the House Manager, will arrange the certificate using a copy of your passport and your partner's ID. Please contact the owner of the apartment who lives in Northern Ireland for more details. Owner's name: Raymond Mc Gough, N. Ireland, on 028 686 58056

"Charming apartment with fantastic hosts."
I travelled to Egypt from the U.S. for my first time in December and stayed for two weeks in this charming accomodation. Thanks to Ray and Mohamed, my fiance and I had the most amazing vacation we could have ever dreamed of. The apartment is very comfortable with all the ammenities of home. The owner (Ray) and Manager (Mohamed) are quick to respond to any questions or needs you might have. You really would find it difficult to meet more wonderful, kind, helpful individuals if you travelled the world over. You truly feel as though you are friends of the family the entire time you are on holiday. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone. In fact, I hope that I can return with my family again in the not so distant future as the apartment is big enough to share.
Nice compliments, thanks very much

The flat is like you see the pictures. Location is very good, in a quit place (what quit can be in Cairo). When you need any help, you just need to call Mohamad and he helps you out. He came to pick us up at the airport and gave us lots of information we could use. When we need a place to stay again in Cairo we'll certainly get in touch again.
A short review which says a lot, thank you

"Would come again"
Agreeing with all other reviews. You don't need to hire a car, the the owner will give you details of amazing rates for taxis. All four of us, (men from 27 to 62 yrs) enjoyed our stay. The owner, Ray and apartment manager, Mohammed were both extremely helpful. We loved being in an area where everyone was so friendly.
As the owner it is good to hear such nice comments. Mohamad and I hope to continue the high standard of service which our guests deserve.

"Very Modern & clean"
The property is exactly as shown in the photos. It is a first floor apartment, with all new accessories i.e. microwave, dish washer, washing machine, jacuzzi. Very comfortable furniture, lovely big balcony. Mohamed, who lives upstairs & manages the apartment, is very helpful, he also speaks very good English. Unless you speak Arabic it is a little difficult to shop locally, but once you are in the main street people are very helpful. The apartment is in a new developing area, so roads are not tarmacked and driving can be a little precarious if you are not used to it! The is a lot of building works that start about 8am, so sleep in the bedroom at the back of the apartment for relative peace & quiet, but remember it is Egypt & the local people, including children go to bed quite late. The apartment is quite a long way from the airport, so make sure you leave plenty of travelling time for your return flight otherwise it is within reasonable travelling distance of most attractions in Cairo. Egyptian people are very relaxed about time, so if you need to be somewhere by a certain time give yourself plenty of time to get there. There is a cleaning lady available for a small fee. Be aware that there is a LE50 fee for electricity, which could have been included in the rental of the property. If you are washing clothes be careful when you hang it out on the line on the balcony as the upper apartments sweep rubbish and dirty water from washing their balcony floors out into the street and this can soil your clean washing (ask the cleaning lady to do it!). I found this apartment situation very much at the heart of everyday life in Cairo and would love to stay there again.
I agree with this guest about the poor state of the roads - sorry but this is out of our control! Regarding the £50.00 electricity charge, this has now been dropped. Along with linen and towels, electricity is now included in the rental price. I hope this offers value for money to our customers - and we do our best to live up to our mission statement. To this customer I say thank you for your comments - I have made two changes, cost of the electricity and the provision of a clothes-horse.
