A contemporary, sumptuous hideaway on Giudecca Island, “Casa d'Oro a Mare” is a newly restored and designed luxury apartment of 130m2 (1,400 square feet). Renovated by a renowned Italian interior designer, it comfortably sleeps five guests in three bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms. Outside, the charming terrace offers stunning views across to St Mark's Basilica.
This comfortable apartment has the enormous advantage of being well protected from mass tourism, but still boasts very easy access to the rest of Venice by a frequent public boat service (vaporetto) that operates day and night.
Points of Interest / Distances
An extremely sought-after location, Giudecca Island boasts two of the most famous churches from Palladio (Redentore and Zitelle), and holds three of the most renowned hotels in Venice (Cipriani, Bauer Palladio and Hilton Stucky). There are also two cult Venetian restaurants on the island, Altanella (only steps from the apartment) and Harris Dolci.
At a short walking distance you will find everything you will require, a very richly supplied supermarket (which is not easy to find in Venice), various groceries and a superb fish monger, the best in town after Rialto market.
The apartment is in the perfect location to explore all that Venice has to offer. There is a vaporetto stop only 5 minutes away. San Marco is 10 minutes away. Accademia, Guggenheim Luseum, Punta della Dogana exhibition space and Biennale exhibition areas are within a very short vaporetto ride.
On the first floor is a comfortable Venetian style living room with two large windows facing the water, flooding the room with light. There is a large contemporary all steel kitchen/dining room seating over 8 people, with two more large windows facing the water.
The double bedroom with a king-sized bed has an en-suite marble covered bathroom with carved sink and tub with ceiling mounted shower, views over a tranquil garden.
There is a twin bedroom (that can also become a super king size double), with an en suite marble covered bathroom with carved sink and separate walk in shower.
On the ground floor, at the sea level, there is landing room with its own private deck, for arrivals directly from the airport or train station by water taxi. This is also a gorgeous place for sun bathing, peaceful reading or romantic al fresco dinners. It boasts stunning views over Canale della Giudecca and Salute's dome. The landing room sleeps a further guest (or two children) in a French bed and has its own bathroom with walk in shower, kitchenette and air conditioning.
There is air conditioning throughout the house, under-floor heating, WI-FI, Satellite TV, DVD, telephone, fax machine, washing machine, tumble dryer and two dishwashers. A hoover and all other cleaning equipment are provided.
Provided Services (Included)
You will be welcomed by our representative in Venice who will show you the apartment and the surrounding area, and will be there to help and assist you throughout your vacation. Weekly bed and bath linen changing and final cleaning are included in the total cost. Electricity, air conditioning, house heating and water heating are also included for your comfort. There is free and unlimited Wi-Fi broadband access. A hairdryer is provided in each bathroom. Cots, cradles and high chairs can also be easily provided upon request.
Extra Services – Available upon request (Not Included)
A water-taxi service is available at a very reasonable price by special agreement for picking up guests at the airport or train station and for dropping them off at the private deck at the apartment. The driver holds the keys to the house. He is also available to take guests on day trips to the laguna, visits to Murano, Burano, Torcello or single trips to any part of Venice, including the train station and airport.
Upon specific request, a special food hamper with food supplies can be provided to cover expected needs for the weekend, or the days following your arrival.

The Veneto region
The Veneto region of north-east Italy has much to offer tourists. Treviso, Verona and Padua are charming cities and well worth a visit. There are also many lovely villages to see, such as Asolo. The Alps lie to the north and are within easy reach by car. The Veneto is famous architecturally for Palladio's famous palazzi, for its distinctive wines including Pinot Grigio and for its interesting Renaissance towns, including Padua, Vincenza and Treviso. There is easy access to the Dolomites just north of Venice which are very beautiful year round.
There are some interesting towns in the Dolomites, including Bolzano Grappa where grappa is made. The famous Verona is a short train journey away with its Roman arena which stages open air opera and other events in the summer.
Be amazed by the abundance of music, history, art and architecture in Venice and the mesmerising beauty of its canals. Venice is a delight to the senses and it is so full of life and unexpected events that it is always surprising, no matter how many times you visit. It is of course a city of romance and famous monuments, but it is also so much more, especially if you manage to escape the well-worn areas around San Marco and Rialto and head fo the lesser-known areas of the city such as San Polo or Cannaregio. Isola della Giudecca (where the apartment is situated) is just a few minutes away from San Marco and Dorsoduro, yet it is nonetheless a haven of peace and splendid isolation. Giudecca has Palladian churches and it is the home of top quality restaurants and hotels including the Cipriani hotel and Harry's Dolci. It also has a range of budget and medium level restaurants. The island of Giudecca enjoys panoramic views of the southern lagoon, which can also be seen from the apartment. To the north there is a spectacular view of the church of Santa Maria di Salute, which lies on the opposite bank of the Giudecca Canal. The Doge's Palace and the Campanile on St Mark's Square can be seen easily across the Bacino di San Marco.
The world famous Venice Carnival takes place in February. There are other festivals at various times of the year including the film festival, the Regatta Storico, the spectacular Redentore festival and the Biennale exhibition.
Venice (Italian: Venezia) is a city in northeast Italy sited on a group of 118 small islands separated by canals and linked by bridges. It is located in the marshy Venetian Lagoon which stretches along the shoreline between the mouths of the Po and the Piave Rivers. Venice is renowned for the beauty of its setting, its architecture and its artworks. The city in its entirety is listed as a World Heritage Site, along with its lagoon.

"Very comfortable pied-a-terre in Venice!"
So cute!! I stayed in this apartment in December with a friend and we were very impressed with the apartment and the service. We were welcomed at the apartment and shown around, the lounge is very spacious and the big windows in both the kitchen and living room are right on the water. You really cannot forget that you are in Venice! There is a cute little 'landing room' too. We made breakfast and dinner every day, which was great as we quickly found that restaurants in Venice are very expensive. A chic, comfortable apartment in a very safe neighbourhood. Everything we needed was at walking distance. I will definitely be returning next year.
