The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
Can Crunayes is on the eastern edge of the Natural Park of the Volcanic Area of the Garrotxa and yet the farmhouse is still within 35 mins of the Costa Brava and its abundance of beaches. The areas surrounding Can Cruanyes is steeped in medieval history and atmosphere, and is littered with villages boasting rambling, narrow streets, beautiful churches and various bars and restaurants.
Girona / Tortella area
Tortella is the local village and is about a 30 minute walk from the accommodation. This quaint village is where you will find the time to have a drink in one of the 2 bars or possibly dine out. Basic grocery shopping can be done here in the grocery store, bakery and butcher.
Besalu is a 10th and 11th century town with picture postcard beauty. There are with many shops, restaurants and bars in which to soak up the tradition and atmosphere of this magical place. Don't miss the tall crooked 11th century fortified bridge and the views from either side of it.
About fifteen minutes from Can Crunayes is the village of Castellfollit de la Roca clinging dangerously to the side of the cliff, observing the Riu Fluvia.
Olot is a vibrant, friendly town is home to some charming architecture to be explored along with a large shopping district. Olot could also be described as the gateway to the volcanic zone just beyond.
The town of Figueres' famous son Salvador Dali still appeals to thousands of visitors every year. You can visit the Dali museum where you'll be offered a unique theatrical experience.
