Verdealloggio is a typical early nineteenth century farmhouse overlooking the stunning Tevere valley. Set in six hectares of grounds with views over surrounding hills, Verdealloggio is, above all, a place to relax and unwind. Yet, it's only 8 minutes walk to the small town Giove with its Castle and charming Medieval village.
The private and panoramic swimming pool is only meters from the property. Children can enjoy the pool and play in the large private garden surrounding the farmhouse.
In Giove there are food shops including a supermarket that offer a wide variety of local products. There is also a Pharmacy, Bank, butchers, bakery, bars as well as a restaurant with which Verdealloggio has a special arrangement for serving meals to its holiday guests.
The Holiday Farm is located in a strategic position between Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany giving a wide choice of different itineraries, from history cities (Rome, Florence etc), lakes (Bracciano, Trasimeno etc), natural protected areas, and the sea coast which is only an hour and half away. Rome-Florence highway and train station are only 10 minutes by car.

The Umbria region
The strategic location at the border, between Umbria and Lazio makes Verdealloggio an ideal base for a day trips to Orvieto, Todi, Rome, Florence, Spoleto, Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, Viterbo, Lake Trasimeno, Civita and many others historical cities. Lazio and Umbria offer a variety of landscapes including lakes, mountains and sea… Both regions are notable for their history, art, architecture, archaeology, food, religion and culture. Nature is another of the special features making the regions an ideal place for vacations and relax.
Giove area
The property is only ten minutes on foot from Giove with its Castle and Medieval village, nominated one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Easy to reach from Rome and Florence (train station and Rome-Florence highway are only 10 min by car), the little centre of Giove is situated on a hill, at 300 meters above the sea level, overlooking the Tiber Valley. The imposing Ducal Castel and the historic centre are often used for local festival and festivities such as 'Il sole e la luna festiva' held at the end of June. The summer calendar is rich of local celebrations, from traditional to cultural, food, wine, also in the nearby towns. In Giove, there is a supermarket, butchers, bakery, chemist’s, post office and bank. There are also various food shops and clothing stores as well as restaurants and pizzerias. Giove is a very quite and peaceful place, people are relaxed and welcoming. Giove is an ideal base for a day trips to: Orvieto, Amelia, Tody, Rome, Florence, Spoleto, Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, Viterbo, Trasimeno Lake, etc..
The Holiday House is fifteen minutes by car from Amelia rich in history, shops (the Coop is open all day non-stop and also on Sundays during the summer months) and folklore, for example, in May there are itinerant old organ concerts in the surrounding district.
How to get there
Rome Ciampino, Fiumicino and Perugia airports are only an hour and half driving from the property. Low cost Ryanair and Easyjet fly to Rome Ciampino and Perugia. Visit http://www.hertz.co.uk/ to rent a car.

Our children have had a really great time. We managed to unwind and relax after a heavy working year in the difficult Belgium climate. We also sampled various local specialities at the wonderful SOLE E LA LUNA village festival where we also watched shows and enjoyed the magical atmosphere of the beautiful Castle of Giove.
This small oasis of tranquility has been a wonderful experience. Precious too, has been the opportunity of preparing Mediterranean recipes with Ornella and sitting down and enjoying the results together. Thank you and see you soon
