The West Country has long been a haven from the hustle and bustle of modern life with its untouched beaches and glorious countryside its no wonder people come back again and again. Due to Dorsets location there is no shortage of things to do with lots of excellent coastal walks and facilities that can cater for all manner of outside pursuits including: Sailing, Cycling, Horse Riding and much much more.
Gillingham / Milton On Stour area
Good local pubs abound in the area - at least three within two miles of Woolfields and many more just a few miles further away. We can recommend the Italian restaurant in Shaftesbury or the exclusive French Fleur-de-Lys.. In Gillingham there are a choice of take-aways. For your convenience and basic needs we have several supermarkets all within a mile and a half.
We would be delighted to provide a Welcome Hamper (at cost and usually around £12 - £15) which will include ham, cheese, cornflakes, eggs, bread and salad just to get you started or if you expect to arrive late. We will also do a complete 'shopping list' if you prefer and supply us with the details.
Suggestions and ideas for your holiday or short break may be found in the multitude of comprehensive tourist information supplied. Or you may care to sample the splendid walking or cycling in the countryside around The Barn.

Further details indoors: The Courtyard Cottage is a two story building. The living area is open plan with oak floors throughout. There is a LCD TV / Freeview & DVD. The fitted kitchen is equipped to a high standard and has electric cooking facilities (hob & oven), large fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer & dishwasher. Relax on a leather corner sofa ( which converts to a sofa bed if needed). Spacious bedroom with the choice of a king-size double bed or twin singles - just let us know your preference, includes LCD TV. Superb folding bed for a child /teenager /extra adult as family room. (Not suitable for young children but a travel cot is available for babies). There is ample hanging and storage space in the bedroom. Quality bedlinen and towels are provided along with a hairdryer. Two shower-rooms containing luxury power-showers. Parking available directly outside. There is a spacious patio with table and chairs for al fresco dining. Grocery service before your arrival is available on request Unfortunately no animals are allowed.
