One of Baron Holidays flagship properties, the five villas, sit at the edge of a hamlet right out in rural Gozo, hidden away at the foot of one of the islands landmark hills. One can only get to them through narrow country lanes, past a small country chapel and century old farmhouses.

Aesthetically constructed in beautiful local limestone, in the style of the surrounding houses, the villas blend perfectly with their rustic, serene neighbourhood.

Once inside however you’re back into the 21st century. The fully equipped kitchen, comfortable practical furniture, and air-conditioning throughout, makes for an easy to manage self catering holiday. Meanwhile flat screen TV’s (one in the living area and another in the master bedroom) with tens of cable and radio channels, a play station and a DVD player will while any unoccupied hours.

At the back of the property a private pool with a large patio complete with sun decks and a Bbq area gives on to miles of uninterrupted undulating valleys and spectacular sunsets.

The focal point of this property is the indoor heated Jacuzzi right in the centre of the ground floor where one can relax and enjoy the amazing countryside views through large french doors.

The property sleeps six in 3 bedrooms all with ensuite facilities. One bedroom is on the ground floor ideal for mobility restricted persons. This floor also has a separate toilet with washing facilities.

Sleeping accommodation on the upper floor, which is reached via a traditional stone staircase, consist of other 2 bedrooms, all with ensuite facilities. Elegantly furnished, in neutral colours and with understated lighting, the good sized rooms are designed to complement the peaceful and laid back ambiance of the surrounding countryside. A terrace with sweeping views completes the upper floor.

We spoil our visitors also in winter, as besides the inbuilt fireplace, the property enjoys underfloor heating throughout both floors. This allows for a perfect romantic break even during the mild Gozo winters when, with its green terraced hills and long sunny periods, Gozo is never more beautiful.

The Island of Gozo region

Gozo forms part of the Maltese Archipelago and right in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. Gozo’s small size is deceptive and its rich history and unique landscape catches the inexperienced traveler by surprise. Inhabited since mythical times, Gozo’s retains an aura of unblemished beauty, still largely un spoilt and accessible to all.

The Islands history and past cultures are evident from its temples (thought to be the oldest standing structures in the world) and forts dotted around the countryside and along its shoreline. An old walled city dominates the centre of the island, high above its surrounding villages. Terraced fields, bordered by miles of old rubble walls, slope down a myriad of hills and valleys, making the countryside an irresistible lure for ramblers, especially during the winter months when the island attains a green golden hue all round.

Property is 3km from the nearest Dwejra Bay. The nearest food store is 600 meters from property. The city Centre Victoria is 4 km away where you can find Cafe's, Restaurants and a fish market.

The sea around its shores is crystal clear and the hidden rocky coves invite the snorklers with their safe bathing almost throughout the year.

"Marvellous Home !"

The historic architecture of this house is really great (outside and inside). The wooden beams, the arches, the stairway and the original limestones are looking fantastic. Very fine is the underfloor-heating-system. The house offers high end equipment. Its a must see!

"Quiet and Relaxing"

Enjoyed our stay here at this newly built villa, which was very spacious and well appointed. Since this was a newly built home, we found a few quirks here and there that were more annoyances than deal breakers, such as the heated jacuzzi never really was a 'hot' temp until our last day and the wireless connection was spotty, as there were hours you just could not connect. We also had some plumbing issues, but those were attended to immediately. We chalked it up to a newly built space and perhaps wasn't 100% ready for guests just yet. This is not a hotel, so you need to bring your own soaps and shampoos, and although the town of Ghasri is walkable it is extremely small, so we found having a car was a must for a better variety of restaurants and sights. My one real request on this rental is there should be directions for every appliance in the house, the dishwasher, the washing machine, the air even the switches for the heated floors, which I do not think were connected yet. It wasn't cold enough to need them, but there were so many switches on the walls we had a difficult time figuring out what switch went to what light etc. Other than these mild quirks, we loved it!
