By far one of the best properties available in rural Gozo, this expertly converted Farmhouse set on the outskirts of the quiet village of Gharb enjoys spectacular and majestic sea and country views. Comprising kitchen/dining room combined, lounge, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (ensuite), shower room, carport, central courtyard, patios, terraces and enormous pool. All finished to high standards. Fully furnished and equipped. Long lets only (6 months minimum). Perfect for a sabbatical in rural tranquillity or a much needed temporary break from the stress and hectic pace of everyday life.

The local village is set in the middle of Gozo countryside and enjoys complete quiet and calm. It has an interesting history and dates back to ancient pre-historic times. The village retains much of its traditional charm and has resisted the onslaught of proliferation of buildings and development that has sadly affected other parts of the islands. The parish church of the locality, is dedicated to the Visitation of Our Lady to St Elizabeth. The feast day is on the 31st May of every year and the outside festivities are held on the first weekend of July.

The village sits on a strategic vantage point encompassing the picturesque areas of Dwejra and San Dimitri, which contain signs allegedly belonging to the Phoenicians, an ancient tribe of sea-traders of Lebanese origin, who on their journeys to the western Mediterranean used to live in Gharb, from where they planned their sea journeys.

The main attraction of this locality is the Sanctuary of Ta Pinu, a place of great devotion and of national importance in the remote periphery of the village. It is visited by persons of different faiths all year round and is also the target of many pilgrimages. This sanctuary is an extension to a chapel which is still found in the inner northern part of the sanctuary. This was the chapel in which back in 1883, Karmni Grima, a local woman, heard the voice of Our Lady talking to her asking her to recite three Holy Mary's for those three days spent within the tomb.

There are a small number of pretty chapels dotted around the village, testament to the religious attachment of the villagers notably "Taz-Zejt" chapel, Saint Dimitri's chapel. Another little known attraction but yet not to be missed is a window formed in the rocks at the cliffs at Wied il-Mielah. This 'window' is very similar to the popular one found at Dwejra known as the Azure Window.

There is also a folklore museum and the Crafts Village of Ta' Dbiegi, situated at Frangisk Portelli Street. The latter offers various crafts including hand-made pottery, hand-blown glass, lace-making and filigree. In Gozo, crafts like glass blowing and pottery are only found at Gharb.

Aside from being on of the smallest inhabited villages anywhere in the Maltese islands, Gharb however offers basic services namely a small government medical clinic, a post office and a police station.
