The Island of Gozo region

Gozo forms part of the Maltese islands situated in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. It is loved for its mild climate, friendly people, unspoilt beaches, feasts and amazing culture.

Gharb is situated to the west of Gozo surrounded by countryside and the sea. It is a close to Ta' Pinu Sanctuary, Victoria, the capital and Dwejra, a beautiful inland sea. Gharb was awarded the European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) in 2011. It is well served with supermarkets, restaurant, museums and a vineyard. It is the perfect destination for a relaxing get-a-way. Whether you enjoy long walks in the countryside, sighseeing or you just want to relax on one of the many beaches, this is the place to be. Annual highlights of this quaint village include Seher il-Punent held in March and the feast of the Visitation of Our Lady celebrated the first weekend of July when the Church parvis is decorated with beautiful flower petals (Infiorata), carts sell local food in the street and band marches are played. Gharb Day is celebrated on the 29 August with a soiree of culture and entertainment. This is the day when Gharb was declared a parish by Bishop Moline way back in 1679.

"Nice farmhouse, highly recommended"

Very nice farmhouse with new furniture located in a very quiet location. A very enjoyable stay for anyone renting out the farmhouse.
WiFi is also available .
3 ensuite bathrooms but no common bathroom
Backyard/Pool area has a high wall which reduces sunshine hours.
We were offered a very good service

overall, it was great experience

"Charming historic village house of character and comfort with open views of countryside"

We found this an ideal setting for a varied experience of Gozo. Located in an historic village in easy reach of a wide variety of interesting places to visit and pleasurable walks into the fields right from the door. The house is full of interest, lots of places to sit and relax inside and out.

The terrace at the back has a well designed small pool for dipping and relaxing with open views over the countryside.

The house appears to have been recently appointed to a high standard and was very clean. We had a warm welcome from the house keeper who lives close by should we have needed anything.

The village itself has a couple of shops and three bars/restaurants and Rabat is about 15 mins drive with a lot of variety in shopping and restaurants.

Our only tips to the owner would be to suggest a larger coffee pot/cafetiere and teapot please. And to travellers that to get the most out of your time, to suggest that a car is a good idea.

Thank you for your kind comments and positive review. I have immediately taken up your suggestion and provided a traditional glazed earthenware large teapot and will add a six cup cafetiere to complement the existing two cup one. Regards Nicholas

"Beautiful farmhouse in a great location"

Located close to the centre of Gharb, the farmhouse was far beyond our expectations. Over 200 years old, it has huge amounts of character and had been tastefully restored with everything you need and more. The bedrooms and bathrooms were beautifully appointed.

The pool and pool area are a real sun trap and incredibly peaceful with amazing views over the famous Ta' Pinu church.

We will definitely return.
