Home description

Balluta holiday house is set on two levels where the 1st floor can either be reached by an interior spiral staircase from hallway at groundfloor or by an exterior staircase from pool area at groundfloor. Compromises of a double bedroom which got a ceiling fan and is en suite with a spacious bathroom with over bath shower. There is a double bedroom that got a balcony and ceiling fan which shower room is downstairs. The twin bedroom (2 single beds) got a ceiling fan and got an en suite bathroom with over bath shower .
Well equipped rustic style kitchen with dining table and chairs seating up to 6 persons and comfortable sofas with multilingual television. Private spacious sunbathing area with sunny swimming pool and Jacuzzi jets. At the pool area there is a built in barbecue. There are lovely village views from the upper roof terrace and even from the bedrooms terrace.
COTS & HIGHCHAIRS are FREE OF CHARGE at your request depending availability.

TENNIS COURTS and SQUASH COURTS are both few minutes drive away from BALLUTA which are at extra cost for usage of courts, rackets and balls.

BICYCLES, MOTORCYCLES, TAXI, CARS, JEEPS, FAMILY CARS can be booked for you from beforehand by sending us an email to give you full details of the available range as per your request.

INTERNET usage is at extra charge and is few minutes drive away from BALLUTA holiday house.

The Island of Gozo region

A completely unsophisticated island, Gozo is an ideal place for a quiet holiday and offers ample of facilities for walking, sightseeing, wine tasting, sunbathing, swimming and diving in the deep blue seas. From its many flat topped hills the visitor looks down on fertile valleys and lovely folklore villages. The beauty of unspoilt life that goes on in this essentially farming and fishing island is enchanting. As regards its history Gozo follows the same pattern as its bigger sister Malta - subject to the same conquests and the same vicissitudes. Also here the island has much to offer to the tourist: places connected with events to the past, towers and fortifications, churches and chapels with its interesting history, traditions kept alive in the normal life of the people and .... and .... many legends and myths. When nature comes in, the tourist can easily see that it has scaterred its treasures with a very generous hand on the Isle of Calypso: enchanting landscapes and wonderful beauty spots, golden sands and rocky beaches, fascinating inlets and sheltered bays, hills and valleys which all help to give the island a personality of its own.
The Maltese Islands got an excellent climate with sunny hot weather throughout the long summer months.

Gharb area

Gharb (pronounced Arb) lage on the island and was once guarded and inhabited by the Arabics which is why Gharb got the name from. Gharb means West in Arabic as this village is located on the wast side of the island. Gharb got many legends including of San Dimitri, the Oil Chapel and the Fungus plant family. In Gharb you will find the stunning Miraculous Basilica of Ta Pinu and the museum of Frenc ta` l-Gharb who was a farmer who used to heal people with herbs. Many people visit Ta` Pinu Miraculous Basilica and Frenc ta` l-Gharb with faith that one day they will get the grace that they want!
Gharb is located very close to the Azure Window, the Inland Sea and the Fungus Rock.
The Religious feast of Gharb is celebrated on the 1st week of July with fireworks glittering into the dark high skies and scattered Saint Catherine wheels on the ground to throw colourfull sparks, lit up streets for the Saint to pass from and then back into the well lit and lovely tapestry decorated church. Band marches will take part in the feast whilst locals will throw confetti from their balconies and roof terraces.

How to get there

Fly to MALTA international airport which is on the southern part of the Island of Malta and is just 1 hour 20 mins drive away from Cirkewwa harbour which is on the northern part of the island of Malta. The ferry crossings of GOZO CHANNEL http://www.gozochannel.com between the island of MALTA and the island of GOZO are very frequently operated in Winter and Summer months and takes just 25 minutes sailing between the Islands. Can arrange for you a taxi which seats up to 8 persons to pick you all up from Malta airport then drive you all the way to Cirkewwa harbour. Then board the ferry and then taxi driver will drive you the holiday house. You will find then the car hire next to the holiday house on your arrival. Will meet you on your arrival at the house to give you the house key and show you around the house.
ALTERNATIVELY can book you car/s to be picked up and dropped off at Malta airport. Will provide you driving directions to follow from Malta airport to Cirkewwa harbour not to get lost. Will then meet you at MGARR harbour which is the only harbour in Gozo that the ship sails to from MALTA harbour, once you have phoned me before boarding the ferry to Gozo to let me know which ferry time you are coming with to meet you in time at MGARR harbour!

SEAPLANE FROM MALTA TO GOZO HARBOUR & CAR HIRE ON YOUR ARRIVAL:
On your arrival at Malta airport at the arrivals hall, a taxi driver* will pick you all up at an extra charge and will drive you to the Valletta Waterfront sea passenger terminal to check in for the seaplane and then get on board the seaplane. `Gozo Prestige Holidays` can book you flight seats on the seaplane to depart from Valletta Waterfront which you will fly directly in just 20minutes to the Gozo harbour. `Gozo Prestige Holidays`can organise you either a taxi* which will pick you all up on your arrival at the Gozo Yacht Marina to drive you directly to the holiday house and there you will find the car hire* as per your request and there you will be met at the holiday house by 'Gozo Prestige Holidays` so that will be shown around the house and then give you the house keys. Otherwise car hire* can be picked up on your arrival and even dropped off on your departure at the Gozo Yacht Marina if choosing this option you will be met by `Gozo Prestige Holidays` on your arrival and then you will drive behind `Gozo Prestige Holidays` car to the holiday house where you will be shown around the house and then give you the house keys.
THERE IS A NEW SERVICE OF THE TWIN OTTER SEAPLANE that departs from MALTA AIRPORT RUNWAY and arrives at the GOZO HARBOUR YACHT MARINA in around 10minutes. RETURN Twin Otter Seaplane service is available from the GOZO HARBOUR YACHT MARINA to the MALTA AIRPORT RUNWAY.

Balluta is a superb comfortable holiday house with lovely plants and flowers around pool area. We would stay again as Carmen is very reliable, pleasant, friendly and easy to arrange extra services such as car hire and taxi transfers from Malta airport to accommodation in Gozo.
