Home description
The charm of the Androulakis lies in the warmth of its character and the hospitality of its owners Gina and Yannis. Created in the large gardens and orange groves of the old family farmhouse, the one bedroom apartment is on a split level (ideal for smaller families to share) or single storey.
The apartment backs on to sweet smelling orange groves and open at the front towards lawns and colourful flowerbeds around the pool. Androulakis will be appreciated for its warm welcome by couples and families alike and although close to the beach, there is little need to leave this haven of tranquility.

The Crete region
Gerani is a small, quiet coastal village in one of the most fertile areas of western Crete full of orange and olive groves with views of the outstanding White Mountains. For centuries the loggerhead sea turtles have returned to these beaches just after the August full moon to lay their eggs. Aghia Marina is a lively resort on a fine sandy beach that stretches for nearly 4km, offering a great selection of bars, restaurants and shops. The old village of Aghia Marina is set 1km from the beach, with an equally good selection of tavernas. Mid-way between Aghia Marina and Gerani is Platanias, a lively, bustling town, with amenities for young and old. The old village of Platanias, 1km inland, looks down on the newer resort – the views are magnificent. Platanias has many tavernas, restaurants, bars and coffee/ice-cream shops. There is a frequent bus service to beautiful Hania which is always worth a visit.
Travel Club of Upminster has three self-catering properties and two hotels located a couple of kilometres east and west of Platanias town, which is easy to get to. Hence customers can easily mix the peace and tranquillity of Gerani with the ease of Aghia Marina and the Cretan town-life of Platanias.
Gerani area
Visit the mountains and Topili Gorge by bus which is fairly reasonable and a great day out. Platanias is only a couple of kilometres away, offering nightlife and a good selection of Tavernas.
How to get there
The closest airport to Gerani would be Chania, many flight companies service this airport including Thomson, Thomas Cook, Kiss Flights and Monarch, the transfer time from Chania airport is approximately 40 minutes.
Another airport which is just 1 hour 30 minutes from Aghia Marina is Heraklion, most flight carriers service this airport (see above) also Easyjet.
