Home description
With the community Swimming Pool, Bar, BBQ & Beach within 300 yards of the property, relaxing is never too far away! This location boasts unrivalled views of the evening sunset which just has to be seen to be really appreciated. This is best done with a tropical cocktail or a Kalik (local beer) keeping things cool! Take a ride in a kayak, fish the bonefish flats, or simply relax under a palm frond umbrella. All the necessary amenities including local restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shops, are within a 5-15 minute car journey. With two double and one twin bedroom, the cottage is ideal for families, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.
The development is beautifully landscaped with many natural tropical plants including coconut trees, ponsiannas, banana trees, frangipanis, bougainvillea, and of course a plethera of many coloured hibiscus. There is ample parking. As the nearest main road is a mile away passing traffic is minimal giving the development a quiet, peaceful atmosphere.

The Exumas region
Located only 90 minutes from south Florida, Exuma is an undiscovered, unspoiled island full of deserted pristine beaches, friendly people and many options of things to do and see. The weather is temperate with daytime temperatures ranging between an average of 77(f) in the Winter months and 86 (f) in the Summer months. May through October is classed as the rainy season, when it can also become humid. Whilst (touching wood) Hurricanes rarely trouble Exuma, the Hurricane season is between June and November. Exuma island is just large enough to have adequate infrastructure (good roads, a medical clinic, doctors, veterinarian, etc.) but small enough to offer the lucky visitor a vacation they will never forget.
Georgetown / Hermitage area
Georgetown is the capital of Exuma and has a colourful history including pirates and plantation aristocracy. Shopping includes gift shops, 2 grocery stores and the outdoor straw market. The Sandpiper offers a selection of Bahamian crafts such as straw baskets, ceramics, watches and postcards. Georgetown is home to Scotia Bank & Royal Bank of Canada for banking services, a gas (petrol) station, scooter rentals, tour operators, and several other types of shops. For night life in Georgetown visit Club Peace and Plenty, Eddie’s Edgewater, Port and Starboard Harbour front bar. Alternatively one half mile from Georgetown is February Point which includes a great restaurant/bar and half a mile in the other direction is the local fish fry (lots of local shacks on the beach front) offering mouth watering local dishes and bahamian music. Buzzys is a must on a Monday night to dance to the local live Rake and Scrape band. You’ll find some of the most beautiful beaches on Stocking Island in Elizabeth Harbour.
Swimming, snorkelling, kite-boarding, water sports & diving on Exuma is truly world-class either within your family or with one of the many qualified organisations situated on the island. Both snorkellers and divers will enjoy exploring the many underwater caves and coral gardens or just sit and relax on the white sandy beach of chat and chill enjoying a conch salad and a cocktail. St. Francis, on Stocking Island, is a must for lunch with stunning views of both elizabeth Harbour and the ocean. No holiday is complete without a visit to see Dee at Santanas beach bar, Williams Town. Here you will receive a cheery Bahamian welcome and some of the best food on the island; the craked conch is to die for!
Fishing around Exuma is a must. Whether flyfishing for bonefish & other powerful smaller species with a local guide or bluewater fishing for Mahi mahi, wahoo or other big gamefish can be arranged with local captains.
How to get there
The Exumas stretch lazily across the Tropic of Cancer about 300 miles southeast of Florida. Great Exuma, the largest of the Exuma islands is serviced by daily flights from Miami & Fort Lauderdale (US) & Nassau (Bahamas). Travel operators servicing the island include American Eagle, Continental, Bahamasair, Sky Bahamas and Western Air. Reliable car rental can be arranged for the duration of your stay. The Pink House is located at The Cays, a small private development located on the south side of the island, half way between the airport and Georgetown.
