Game farms, a casino, Oudtshoorn's ostrich farms, the Congo Caves and the spectacular Knysna tourist mecca is within an hours drive from the property.
This home has absolute beach frontage and spectacular views towards Mosselbay over the bay! Glentana is a picturesque beach village and even in peak season the endless stretch of sand is sparsely populated. City dwellers can therefore enjoy a peaceful setting within a short distance from nearby towns such as George and Mosselbay with an abundance of top class shops restaurants and theatres.

Five of the 6 bedrooms have uninterrupted views of the waves rolling onto pristine sand. Step off the patio and you are on on the sand! This home caters for two families; On ground level is a master bedroom and en-suite, 4 additional double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. A large laundry and external servant's quarters ( 7th bedroom with WC and shower) is on the intermediate level, a master bedroom and en-suite, two large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen areas and a fantastic alfresco with sweeping ocean views and an external staircase to the beach on the upper level.
This home has direct access to the beach and views from ground as well as upper levels. Being a family home, it caters for all possible needs. The upper level living areas can be used separately and most household items are duplicated, i.e. kettles, toasters, fridge/freezers and more....

The property has a double carport and a servant's quarter, consisting of a large bedroom, WC and shower which is under the same roof of the main house but has a separate external entrance.

The Garden Route on the Western Cape includes one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline, that winds its way for some 200 km from Mossel Bay, via George, Wilderness, Sedgefield and Knysna on to Plettenberg Bay and culminating in the Tstisikamma Forest - a fairyland of giant trees, ferns and bird life.
This is arguably the best part of South Africa and is a must for nature lovers, hikers and beach bums! Some of the country's most picturesque hiking trails can be found in this region. Booking is however essential since these trails are in high demand.
The George / Glentana area
The town of George, known as "The Gateway to the Garden Route", graces a coastal plateau in a fertile area of lush greenery at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains. A n enjoyable day outing would include a two hour drive from George/Glentana to Oudtshoorn, "Capital of the Klein Karoo". This town is set in a semi-arid valley, providing the ideal habitat for ostriches which are farmed here on a grand scale.
Tourists can visit the ostrich farms to buy local produce and try their luck at riding these huge birds! The famous Congo caves can be included in this day trip to ensure an eventful day out. Alternatively hop aboard the Outeniqua Tjoe Choo steam train which runs from George to Knysna- one of the most scenic train journeys in the world, following the Indian Ocean coast line and winding up through the forests!

Glentana is 10minutes from the George International Airport. Most airlines fly either into Cape Town or Johannesburg with ongoing flights to George. Various domestic flight options are available on budget airlines such as Kulula, 1-Time, SA Airlink, SA Express and Mango which operates from all major cities such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Bloemfontein to George.
All major car rental companies such as Hertz, Avis, Imperial, Europcar, Sixth and Budget have offices at the airport.
The Beach House is within a 10minute drive from George International Airport. When you leave the airport follow the N2 Freeway to Mosselbay. Take the Glentana (R102) off-ramp and turn left towards the ocean. Follow the main road until you reach the built-up area of Glentana. When the road levels out, turn left into any of the roads that indicates "Outeniqua Strand".
At the T-junction turns right into Gleniqua Drive untill you pass the apartments "La Tornyn" on your left hand side. Immediately past the timber home next to the apartments, is a battleaxe which is the entrance to the home. You will recognize the white double storey home from the photo on the web site.
