The North West Ireland / County Sligo region

The area is most famous for its associations with the famous artistic family of W.B. Yeats and his brother Jack Yeats; therefore, it is called the Yeats country. A summer school takes place every year in August with famous literati coming from all over the world.

Surfing championships take place in September. Boat trips can be arranged to uninhabited islands of archaeological interest. The climate is like that of the U.K. A visit to Dublin or Belfast is worthwhile. Championship golf courses are plentiful green fees vary from a local course of 20 euros to 60 euros for more prestigious ones. Local 5 star KILRONAN CASTLE is 7km and fine dining is available here and at local fine restaurants.
