About the home

Traditional 3 bedroom cottage, with 3 double beds to sleep 6. Comfortable lounge, wood-burning fire, spacious dining room with local oak furniture, full kitchen, downstairs bathroom with large shower and washbasin, and separate wc.Large enclosed garden with lawns. Located in quiet village, with all facilities in nearby town, good access to Le Treport, Dieppe, Rouen, Amiens and Somme battlefield sites. Drive time to Disneyland approx two and a half hours. Train journey possible via Beauvauis to Paris and Disneyland.
Please note child stair-gate on -site if required.

The Northern France / Picardie region

Handy location for Somme battlefield sites, also the Somme Estuary, with its narrow gauge steam railway, Amiens,with the famous son et lumiere at the Cathedral, Le Treport with the newly restored cliff lift, the historic city of Rouen and the port of Dieppe. The wonderful cathedral at Beauvais, with the magnificent astronomical clock, is highly recommended. Excellent sandy beaches at Quend, Fort Mahon and Le Touquet are just over an hour away, and this area is also renowned for its championship standard golf courses.

The Gauville area

Local markets in Aumale ( Sat ) and Blangy ( Sun ) , sell a wonderful array of local produce - try the superb local cider, or the famous Neufchatel cheese, with its own Appelation Controlle. The nearby town of Aumale ( 2km ) has all amenities needed, including outdoor swimming pool, 3 supermarkets, bakery, bars and restaurants. Oak furniture is made locally, visit one of the nearby workshops. Many excellent local restaurants to choose from - duck is a popular local favourite, or sample lovely fresh seafood in one of the many excellent seafood restaurants in Le Treport or St. Valery. The Bresle valley has fishing lakes, trout farm and water sport opportunities.
