The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
This is an area of exceptional natural beauty, punctuated by intended rocky coves and bays, clean white gold beaches, dramatic cliffs, quaint Mediterranean villages and green fertile valleys. This is a land of contrasts quite different to anything you will see anywhere on the coasts anywhere in the world.
The sun shines almost all year round with the region enjoying an enviable average daily temperature of 20 degrees (in the summer this may reach up to 40 degrees) This allows for swimming, water sports, and golf in any season. The world authority describes the climate as one of the most environmentally perfect climates in the world, and it feels like it was created for outdoor living. Jávea more specifically is said to have the healthiest climate in the world.
Recreation is also more than adequately catered for with luxury marinas, nightlife, golf, water sports, and restaurants. Good food is essential to the Costa Blanca North way of life. Every taste is catered for and this region had gained a reputation for exceptional cuisine. Northern Costa Blanca has a diversity that has captured the hearts of many. The hustle & bustle and drama of the coast sits in with the complete contrast of the tranquillity and tradition of the countryside just a few kilometres inland. This quality of life is incomparable in Europe.
Gata de Gorgos / Gata Residencial area
Gata de Gorgos is described as being the bazaar of the Costa Blanca, a municipality of whitewashed houses, offering the purest of Mediterranean environments , receiving its name from the river that bathes it. Tradition lives in Gata, which has been able to overcome adversities, extracting profit from them and without leaving to one side its traditionalactivities: Agriculture and the handicrafts of esparto and wicker. Baskets, furniture, hats, everything is possible at the hands of the craftsmen, who have turned the tradition into a source of wealth.
A small coastal town, Moraira is situated in the beautiful mountainous area of the Costa Blanca. The resort is conveniently placed between the airports of Alicante and Valencia (about 90km from each). However, the surrounding area has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, with beautiful and. unspoilt scenery and many small villages to explore. It has an impressive marina, excellent variety of local shops, weekly open markets, harbour-side fish restaurants and bars still retaining their Spanish character. There are too many restaurants of interest and good quality to list here but we can mention that there are 8 Michelin recommended restaurants in the immediate area with three of them being star rated.
Dénia is a coastal city located to the north of the province of Alicante and has a 20-kilometre coastline, made of small, beautiful coves. To the north there are the fine sandy beaches of Les Marines and Les Bovetes and the shingle beaches of Les Deveses and L' Almadrava beaches, which are craggy and rocky; to the south is the Les Rotes beach. Though the beaches are long, they are not enormous and generally appeal to family-type tourism. A picturesque town 20 minutes drive from the apartment through the Montgo National Park.
Javea has much to offer. Spread out over a large area, there are coves to discover, cultural and historical sites and wonderful walks. The town is divided into three distinct sections. There is the old town, with its narrow cobbled streets and its monuments of Spanish history and culture. The port area is still a working fishing port and is a delightful place to visit with its mixture of fish markets and seafront bars and cafes.
Calpe Under the attentive gaze of the highest cliff on the Mediterranean, the Peñón de Ifach, Calpe has grown on both sides of the Great Rock, symbol and image of the Costa Blanca. It has been a tourist destination since the 30s due, especially, to the quality of its beaches, their fine sand and the cleanliness of their waters. The municipality preserves vestiges of the past in its old town, and curiosities such as the ruins of the Baños de la Reina, and some abandoned salt mines. Its fishing port is full of vitality, where restaurants serve the local fish and seafood.
