The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

The Villa is situated between Javea and Denia in a residencial area called Gata Residencia on Monte Pedreguer. Javea is situated at the base of the Montgo natural park. It is the most easterly point on Mainland Spain at the northern end of the Costa Blanca, approximately 95kms from Valencia and 90 kms from Alicante. The 25km of coastline has scenic rocky coves, wonderful beaches and dramatic cliffs. Javea has been voted 'environmentally near perfect' by the World Health Organization and boasts 320 days of sunshine a year!

For those who don't just want to relax, sunbathe, eat and drink you could try

A walk in the Montgo National Park. The summit of the Montgo is 753 meters and the 360 degree views from the summit are stunning. Ibiza can be seen to the East.

A short drive away you will find Jalon and Orba. Try some of the locally produced wines including the famous Moscatel at the local bodegas. Explore the winding streets and drive through the Jalon valley. This is the real Spain not to be missed.

El Vergel is a local safari park about 15 mins drive from Javea and makes an enjoyable day out. Also recommended is a visit to the animal sanctuary in Guadalest. Benidorm is home to terra natura another animal park

A 30 minute drive south from Javea will bring you to the mega resort of Benidorm. Young and old alike will enjoy Terra Mitica, Aqualandia and Mundomar. Benidorm Palace makes an excellent choice for a show and a meal.

There are several golf courses in the area. Javea golf course is right on the doorstep. La Sella and Oliva Nova are only a short drive from Gata.


Gata de Gorgos / Gata Residencial area

There are many things to do & see in the local area including, golf, fishing, tennis, horse riding, wind surfing, climbing & lots more. The local villages of Pedreguer & Gata de Gorgos are just over 5 mins drive. These are both traditional Spanish villages with a selection of shops, bars & restaurants.

Less than 5 minutess drive takes you to Monroe’s Carvery, an English style restaurant, which also provides live entertainment several nights a week.

JAVEA is approx 10 minutes drive away . The Arenal is the beautiful sandy beach area which has an esplanade flanked by good very reasonable restaurants overlooking the ocean. The Port is a great place to browse around it has a pebble beach the water is clear and blue, restaurants so good for people watching. The Old Town Javea an historical town in the centre is a wonderful church which is well worth a visit why not combine it with a trip to the market on Thursday morning which is held in the old town.

DENIA is in the other direction about 10 minutes drive away. Denia is a lively old historic town with its castle, port, fish market and many shops. Sandy beaches abound as do rocky spots ideal for snorkelling. Many Fiestas takeplace throughout the year both in Denia and in many nearby villages. There are some spectacular parades and firework display not to be missed. There are lots of shops bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.
Denia is the only port on the Costa Blanca offering ferries to the Balearic islands of Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera.

GOLF

La Sella Golf Course is near the village of Jesus Pobre. The course has 18 holes, par 72 and is 6,029 metres. The course although flat has many trees and water obstacles and presents a very good challenge. Within 10 minutes drive of the house is Javea Golf Club situated between Moraira and Javea and is open all year round. The course is a 9 hole, par 72 and 3,035 metres. The course is easy to play and relatively flat. Both Javea and La Sella clubs have tennis and squash courts. Within a half hour drive north in Oliva is Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. This testing course has18 holes, par 72 and 7,051 metres. Further afield you have the two championship courses near Benidorm which were opened in 2006 and which provide excellent tests for all golfers.


How to get there

Gata Residencia is ideally situated midway between Alicante and Valencia airports. Transfer from the airport is is very easy via the AP7 and links directly to Javea.
