Tenuta Villa Oleandro
About the home
A lovely apartment with private pool attached to the imposing owner-occupied Villa Oleandro in an idyllic setting. Nestled in a valley among olive groves and pinewoods with views to the Adriatic Sea.
We offer the discerning traveller privacy, tranquility, relaxation and a gorgeous swimming pool.
Charming, well-appointed accommodation with private swimming pool (shared with the owners). The apartment consists of double bedroom, living room (with sofabed), shower room and fully equipped kitchen (electric oven, gas hob, refrigerator, washing machine, dining table and chairs). In addition, a welcome hamper will greet you on arrival; a selection of goodies to get you started. You will not need to buy essentials such as Extra Virgin Olive Oil, condiments, garlic, milk, etc, and there will be one or two surprises as well.
La Casa Lavanda is a self-contained independent apartment attached to Villa Oleandro where there is a wealth of outdoor space for relaxing and alfresco dining while enjoying views to the Adriatic. The 300 sq metre stone/grass Upper Terrace that fronts Villa Oleandro has three pergolas covered with grape vines and flowering plants that provide much-welcome shade and is refreshed by Adriatic breezes.
The terrace has a private area where guests can relax, a barbecue for outdoor cooking and a marble-topped table for alfresco dining that in high summer enjoys sun at breakfast time and shade until late afternoon when the sun returns with the full warmth of sunset.
A staircase from the stone/grass Upper Terrace descends to the Sun Terrace (Middle Earth) with ample space for sunbathing and another marble-topped table for outdoor dining. Further steps lead from the Sun Terrace to the 250 sq metre Pool Terrace. To the side of the Pool Terrace is an informal terrace with a fruit orchard.
The property is 100 metres above sea-level and about 3 km from the beautiful Calenella Bay. Set in 4 hectares of olive groves and pine woodland Tenuta Villa Oleandro is a haven of tranquility with glorious views upto the Foresta Umbra and down to the Adriatic Sea. Olive farmers permitting, in the summer months our valley enjoys breathtaking peace and quiet!
Places of interest, shops, markets & restaurants can be found in nearby Vico del Gargano, Rodi Garganico, Peschici and all along the extensive coastline. To find out more about the Gargano visit our website (click on the link in the Owner Contact section).
Villa Oleandro is referred to by the locals as a "toretta" (little castle) because of its impressive terraces and prominent position overlooking the valley that passes from the Foresta Umbra down to Calenella Bay. In our corner of paradise, surrounded by an ocean of olive trees and pine woods, we farm 280 olive trees producing our very own Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Further details outdoors:
The one comment that we have had from most guests is that they did not expect the sheer scale of the terracing at Villa Oleandro and that the photographs do not do the property justice.
Maintaining and upgrading the estate is a full time job and we are constantly trying to improve the environment. The latest addition is a pergola on the guest apartment terrace that we hope will bring more welcome shade under which guests can relax on a sunbed or in a hammock with a good book and a glass of wine.
We have vegatable plots dotted around and guests are welcome to help themselves to fresh tomatoes, chillis, parsley, herbs and whatever else may be in season.
Conditions
The property is suitable for adults only although we will consider young teenagers or infants at your request.
If you want to bring a pet please contact us to discuss it.
We can be flexible with bookings; i.e. we do NOT insist on Saturday to Saturday (after all the most convenient/economical flights may be mid-week) nor do we insist on 7 days as you may find an overnight stay near the airport more appropriate to your flight times (currently the most convenient flight times are available at Ancona or Rome). So please do enquire and we may be able to advise.
