“ Vanni” lies in the countryside in the midst of an old green olive grove, 2.5 km far from the village of Peschici and 2 km far from the beach and the harbour.
It is a quiet friendly place, ideal for families and sports lovers, who can keep fit in the outdoor fitness centre, or going for long walks in the woods, or enjoying the swimming pool.
It consists of 19 well furnished and independent apartments, each of them with a separate entrance and a veranda for the meals.
The available apartments are as follows: one room apartments "studio" sleeping 2; one bedroom apartments sleeping 2-4; two bedrooms apartments sleeping 4 (additional bed possible).
All the apartment are fully equipped with a kitchen corner, fridge, 4 burners, bathroom with shower.
The beach is reachable by a free shuttle that takes you to and from it twice a day.
“Vanni” allows to appreciate the peace of Peschici also in low season (autumn and early spring), as it is managed by the owners who live there all year round. In autumn end/or spring the weather is usually mild and it could be nice to take a sort of gastronomic tour in the Gargano area, so that your senses will enjoy the flavours and tastes around it. Get ready for local cusine: fish, fresh fruit (sweet oranges are typical of the area), vegetables, meat, sweets like "cartellate", and the typical pasta "ricchitelle”.

The Puglia/Molise region

Vanni apartments are in Puglia, a very long region in the South of Italy on the Adriatic coast. Puglia looks like a boot and has lot to offer to tourists besides the beautiful sea, oil, wine and Mediterranean food. You must visit it if you are looking for sun, unspoilt nature, blue sea, both white sandy and rocky stony beaches, art and history. Trulli di Alberobello, Grotte di Castellana, Castel del Monte, Bari, Lecce and its "baroque", Sassi di Matera are within an easy reach.
Gargano is a hilly promontory in the north of Puglia. The nature in Gargano is strong, wild and varied: terraced fields, olive plantations, lemons and oranges orchards, pines, lakes, steep white coast alternating with large sandy shores, small bays, deep inlets, caves and marine cliffs. Gargano is also a 120.000 hectares National Park with forests, lagoons, marine reserves and mountains rich of mushrooms in autumn and wild asparagus in spring.
At 60 km from Peschici is the town of San Giovanni Rotondo, where Padre Pio lived. He was declared saint by Pope Giovanni Paolo II in 2002. The sanctuary and the new church, built by the architect Renzo Piano, attract millions of pilgrims every year.

Gargano / Peschici area

The village Peschici is the "gem" of Gargano. It is built on a rock rising straight from the sea and dates back to 950 A.D. The village itself is a cumulous of white low houses, scattered against the rock. From afar you are dazzled by the white houses in the sun; at night the village looks like a "crib". The palette of many famous artists painted the bluish-green of the sea, the blue sky and the green pines leaning over the water. At the foot of Peschici is a white sandy bay and, if you hire a boat, you can discover lovely romantic little beaches. Excursion boats take you to caves, "grotte" and to Tremiti islands, quite an unspoilt area with wonderful beaches, a paradise for divers.
And what about food? The local cuisine, the typical "cucina mediterranea" is rich and varied and includes genuine flavours such as olive oil, caciocavallo and pecorino cheese, fish, tomatoes.

How to get there

You can get to Peschici by car: Brennero - Italian border - A22 - A14 Bologna/Bari - exit Poggio Imperiale - Superstrada Gargano (exit Vico del Gargano) - Peschici
Fly to Pescara ( low budget flights Ryanair) - by car take A 14 (direction South, Bari) - exit Poggio Imperiale - Superstrada Gargano ( exit Vico del Gargano) - Peschici.
Low budget flights arriving also at Bari airport (Ryanair)
If you want to use the train from Pescara or Bari, see www.trenitalia.it, stop at San Severo and take train or bus line to Peschici ( www.ferroviedelgargano.com)

This tariff is for a 1 bedroom apartment sleeping 4 people. It is possible to add an extra bed (Euro 30 - 80 according to the season)

The prices for apartments sleeping 2-4 people (1 or 2 bedrooms ) range from Euro 140 to Euro 830 per week.

Discounts if you spend three weeks in the residence in March, April, May, September, October.

" We had a lovely holiday in Residence Vanni. The welcoming was very warm as well as the owners were very nice people and also good cooks. We had everything we needed there. The prices were ok. Unfortunately during high season we could not afford to stay there.

We enjoyed our stay at Vanni very much.
We particularly liked our apt,the huge balcony and its privacy,and would choose it or the 1bedroom one next door if we get the opportunity to return! In September when we went it was excellent value for money.
We found the atmosphere which the family created at Vanni extremely friendly,helpful,safe and trusting.I'm sure anyone staying there would benefit,as we did from this atmosphere of mixing in such a way with people from other countries.Their patience with our language inabilities was wonderful and showed something of the depth of their warm welcome.
We enjoyed the beautiful,varied scenery and the lovely beaches,

Dear Lucia,
Thank you we had a very nice stay at Vanni.
The family of Vanni made us very welcome and were very helpful throughout the stay. especially they helped me find a doctor when my son was ill and then helped us get the medicine.
The apartment was a good standard .
The swimming pool was beautiful.
we enjoyed the bbq and party nights.
As for the price we found it quite expensive in British pounds as the euro is very strong.
If we came again to Gargano we would consider Vanni.
