“Aleppo Pines” is a brand new, relaxing residence ideal for recovering from the hot Italian summers of Puglia. It consists of 15 apartments, well furnished in a Mediterranean style, that means a fully equipped veranda with chairs, dining table and beach umbrella where you can have your meals. The residence has some “studio” apartments, sleeping 2, some apartments with one bedroom sleeping 2-4, some apartments with two bedrooms, sleeping 4 –6. Additional bed possible. All the apartments have a fully equipped kitchen corner with fridge, 4 burners, and bathroom with shower. As by the name, the apartments are surrounded by a park of Aleppo pines that can be enjoyed by kids and adults as the park features deckchairs, barbecue area and a nice playground for children. The sea of the crystal Baia di Manaccora and its sandy beaches are at a walking distance (250 m).

The Puglia/Molise region
"Aleppo Pines" is in Puglia in the south of Italy on the Adriatic coast. Puglia looks like a boot and has a lot to offer to tourists besides the beautiful sea, oil, wine and Mediterranean food. Visit it if you are looking for sun from spring to autumn, unspoilt nature, blue sea, white sandy and rocky stony beaches, art and history. Trulli di Alberobello, Grotte di Castellana, Castel del Monte, Bari, Lecce and its "baroque", Sassi di Matera are worth seeing. Gargano is a hilly promontory in the north of Puglia. The nature in Gargano is strong, wild and very varied: terraced fields, olive plantations, lemon and orange orchards, pines, lakes, steep white coast alternating with large sandy shores, small bays, deep inlets, caves and marine cliffs. Gargano is also a 120.000 hectares National Park, with forests, lagoons, marine reserves and mountains rich of mushrooms in autumn and wild asparagus in spring. At 60 km from Peschici is the town of San Giovanni Rotondo, where Padre Pio lived. He was declared saint by Pope Giovanni Paolo II in 2002. The sanctuary and the new church, planned by the architect Renzo Piano, attract millions of pilgrims every year.
Gargano / Peschici area
The village Peschici is the "gem" of Gargano, it is built on a rock rising straight from the sea and dates back to 950 A.D. The village itself is a cumulous of white low houses, scattered against the rock. From afar you are dazzled by the white houses in the sun; at night the village looks like a "crib".The palette of many artists painted the bluish-green of the sea, the blue sky and the green pines leaning over the water. At the foot of Peschici is a sandy bay and, if you hire a boat, you can discover lovely romantic little beaches. Excursion boats take you to caves, "grotte" and to Tremiti islands, quite an unspoilt area, a paradise for divers and snorkellers. And what about food? The local cuisine , the typical "cucina mediterranea" is rich and varied and includes genuine flavours such as olive oil, caciocavallo and pecorino cheese, fish, tomatoes, a must!
How to get there
You can get to Peschici by car: Brennero - Italian border - A22 - A14 Bologna/Bari - exit Poggio Imperiale - Superstrada Gargano (exit Vico del Gargano) - Peschici Fly to Pescara ( low budget flights Ryanair) - by car take A 14 (direction South, Bari) - exit Poggio Imperiale - Superstrada Gargano ( exit Vico del Gargano) - Peschici. Low budget flights arriving also at Bari airport (Ryanair) If you want to use the train from Pescara or Bari, see www.trenitalia.it, stop at San Severo and take train or bus line to Peschici ( www.ferroviedelgargano.com) There is also a direct coach service from Milan ( Stazione Centrale) and Rome ( Stazione Tiburtina) twice a day: arrival at Peschici centre . We liked the personal service by matteo (e maria grazía). he (and she!) is very friendly and helpful. he showed us, where to buy good but cheap fish and always helped us, when we wanted to have barbecue. The apartment was tidy. We would have preferred to have an additional bedroom, but I know that we have booked only in June/July and all larger apartments were already occupied then. We also liked the large garden (incl. basilico, prezzemollo, ruccola, salvia, ...) and the possibility to meet other familys." Veronika Redlinger
Dear Lucia, We enjoyd our holiday in Italy very much. The area of Gargano and the village of Peschici was very nice. The apartment we rented was perfect for us. We were 3 familys with small children travelling together and was very pleased to have a litle playground outside the apartments. With few cars and not too many apartments even the smallest ones (3 children at the age of 3 years) could play outside "alone". Not having to use the car to reach the beach was also very good. We would recomend this place for other familys travelling with children!
