The Puglia/Molise region

Areas surrounding the village of Peschici include a National park with hills reaching up to 1.000 m. Cozy 5 min. walk through the old town to a wonderful sandy beach. Excellent area for fishing, diving, hiking, offroad bicycling and boat excursions. Enchanting village, with many excellent restaurants, a daily produce market and a full assortment of shops.

The Garganic Peninsula is listed on an exclusive list of cultural heritage areas of Europe. Covering religion, arts, handicrafts, biology, zoology and folkloristic heritage. More than 300 specimens of orchids are found here, and more than 2000 zoological species that are unique to the area.

The climate is warm (norther european summer temperature) normally between 15th april until the end of October.

Gargano / Peschici area

Being protected by the Holy St Elia, the village has its major religious spectacle in the period between 17th and 22nd July, but you will find both this village and the surrounding villages in celebrating both their own and any catholic or worldly celebrity at any occasion throughout the year. In fact you would find it hard not to find any spectacle of cultural, populistic og religious carachter going on in the summer season in this region.

This area is reknowned for its numerous religios and cultural festivals, you wouldn't find a week in the summer season withour anything going on in Peschici or close by. Check www.agitur.it/contatore/gb/index_ing.html and www.garganotouring.it/evento%20home%20page/Festival/Festival%20Gargano.htm

How to get there

Ryanair covers both Pescara and Bari, both in a driving distance of 2 hrs from the house. From Rome and Napels the distance is 3,5 to 4 hrs drive.

The best deals you can often get on car hire is with Maggiore, and they normally have the shortest waiting line when Ryanair flights arrive..

From Bari and Pescara you can also use train service www.trenitalia.it, stopping at San Severo and choose the private train/bus line to Peschici http://www.ferroviedelgargano.com/, or use taxi service from San Severo (cuts the travel with an hour).

Guestbook for La Rondinaia

Mark & Lori, a fantastic and artistic couple from Nashville Tennessee, rented La Rondinaia for two months in September and October 2008, what better than letting them depict in photos, paintings and words their impressions of Peschici look into http://italy.markandlori.com/resources/photo_galleries.php, the verbal depicts are found under their "Journal" flag.

Hi Anita
We had a fantastic time! La Rondinaia is simply glorious and I miss it desperately! - your pictures really don’t do it justice and for once we were amazed and so delighted that the house was even more beautiful than we had expected. Peschici in August was perfect for the young ones who loved the freedom of being able to cruise safely around the buzzing streets into the quite small hours while Justin and I whiled away time on the terrace or lingered in this or that restaurant. I long to take just one more shower on the outside balcony, quite possibly my favourite thing about the whole house and even holiday. Such an inspired idea!
Franny & Justin, August 2008

Anita, hi,
This is just a quick email to congratulate you on La Rondinaia, a brilliant find and fantastically renovated. It was excellently equipped - you really had thought of everything. We really enjoyed our stay there...
I attach some photos of your friend Pepito... he had many nice things to say of you and your husband!
Best regards
Suhul Bocresion, London, 10th mAY 2008

We had a wonderful week in Peschici in your house by the sea. My mother who has never lived close to the sea thought it was one of the best places she has ever been. Unlike many other areas we have been to this one has not been so overrun by tourists that the local people have disappeared. The town and all the local people were easy to come in contact with even though we did not speak the same language we managed somehow.
I am sure that it will not be the last time that we decide to spend some time in Peschici and we will be telling everyone we meet about how wonderful a place it is.
Lynn Nielsen, April 2008

Thanks for letting us be guests this wonderful and historically interesting home of yours. Weve been trecking, bicycling and enjoying the Old City and of course the wonderful beach and lunches at Lido Orchidea. We certainly will be back! May 2007 .R. Miller & Family, London.

We've spent the most romantic week in our relationship for years here in your house. The most enchanting village and caring people, food, and the serveice everywhere is out of this world. September 2005. Fear./Giff., London.

Tis must be one of the wonders of the world! Our two families, kids and parents, just had the best total holiday experience, with the convenience of all the facilities of the house, as well as the closeness to all the everyday needs and beach and restaurants. Still so distached physically from it all on the cliff. Our only problem was communicating with the locals, so before our next visit we will have to take a course in italian, but we really appreciate all the help you gave us on our way in interpeting, when needed. July 2006 Families Wikare & Stymbold, Sweden.

Despite of having rain three of seven of our days here, we have spent a week of total enchantment here in Peschici. The rainy days gave us a good excuse to stay inside and profit from your generous library, games, and still profit from the sound of the sea, the birds on the cliffs and the everyday neighbourhood. Much better than expected by far! Suzanne Lie & family. May 2006

We really felt like coming "home", everything is so well done here. A totally soul relaxing oval weekend. May, 2007, Pier Paolo & Marina, Milano.
