Spectacular ocean front Villa, occupying one of the finest ocean front positions, with sensational 180º far reaching views, private heated swimming pool, garden, sea view terraces, games room, air conditioning in all bedrooms, two wood burning fires, for cooler winter evenings.
Located in an exclusive and peaceful residential area of Garajau, yet within easy walking distance to all amenities, supermarkets, bakery, restaurants and bars. Villa Aquarela was totally refurbished to a very high standard in 2012. The end result is a stunning three bedroom Villa, beautifully furnished and equipped to a five star standard. On the first floor is a bright spacious open plan lounge, with leather sofas, flat screen television and wood burning fire. Adjacent to this is the dining area and fully equipped kitchen and separate laundry room. There is a second lounge with fireplace and sea views, pool, and garden, patio doors from both lounges open onto the south facing terraces, also on this level are two of the bedrooms, a twin with separate shower room, and the master king size double, with en suite bathroom, and sea view balcony.
On the lower level is the third double bedroom with en-suite shower room and direct access to the terrace, patios and swimming pool. All bedrooms have individually controlled air conditioning units. There is yet another sunny seating area, a pool table, ping pong table and table football – so plenty to keep the children (and adults) amused at any time of the day!
There is plenty of outdoor space with a variety of patios for you to relax and enjoy your days in the sunshine. There is a large wooden dining table and chairs by the built in barbecue, making dining al fresco a must. Just below, perched above the sea cliff, is the swimming pool, sun loungers and shower and tropical garden, all with 180º views of the ocean.
The location of the villa is peaceful and private, yet with the benefits of having everything on your door step. You can take the local pathways down to the headland where you have the 'Cristo Rei' – Statue of Christ, and below it the pebble beach of Garajau, which is accessed by cable car and offers sea bathing, changing rooms and a lovely sea front bar and restaurant. Just a few minutes' walk is the bus stop with a regular service to the capital Funchal, only 10 minutes away. The Palheiro Golf Course is also close by, just 10 minutes by car.

The Madeira Islands region
Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean some seven hundred kilometres west of the African coast, Madeira is a magnificent emerald island, stretching approximately 57 kilometres in length by 26 kilometres wide, its shores lapped by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. Discovered in 1419 by Zarco, Madeira became an important resting place on the long trip to the new world. From these humble beginnings, the holiday trade was formed and this spectacular island, which used to be the favourite place of the rich and famous, is now the preferred choice of all sorts of visitors, from nature lovers and sightseers, to sports enthusiasts of all ages. From golf to mountain biking to paragliding and big game fishing, Madeira has something for everyone.
No matter where you go on the island you are rewarded by fabulous scenery, tiny villages and friendly people.
With a population of over 100,000, Funchal is not only the capital, but also the 'heart' of Madeira and home to many of the islanders. This makes it a busy, chic, cosmopolitan and fun city, full of shops, shopping centres, bars, cafés and a great variety of restaurants and entertainment; a vibrant, metropolitan town where historic splendour and breathtaking natural beauty combine with a thoroughly modern atmosphere. It also boasts a colourful covered market, numerous stately old buildings, including an imposing cathedral and a lovely theatre. The city has grown over the years, ascending higher and higher up the mountainsides, resulting in a beautiful display of sparkling white buildings by day and a myriad of glittering lights at night.
The location of the villa is peaceful and private, yet with the benefits of having everything on your door step. Within easy walking distance you have supermarkets, a bakery, fruit and vegetable store, restaurants, bars, bank and a few shops. You can take the local pathways down to the headland where you have the 'Cristo Rei' – Statue of Christ, and below it the pebble beach of Garajau, which is accessed by cable car and offers sea bathing, changing rooms and a lovely sea front bar and restaurant. Reef diving and snorkelling also available.
Garajau beach has a restaurant bar/coffee bar with a good reputation, lovely for warm evenings. There you can swim in the marine conservation waters which are warm and have friendly fish that welcome visitors. The beach and restaurant can be reached by the steps to the right of the front door. The easiest access is by cable car and the cost is small. You can walk but be warned, it is a long, winding road and the walk back up is only for the super fit! Outside of the peak summer months, June to September, you can drive down.
Shops are open from 08:00 to 22:00 in most case,s except the Pharmacy 09:00 to 19:00 with a lunch break between 13:00 and 14:00. The Bank is open from 08:30 until 15:30, but can be accessed by swiping your ATM card at the door, over the counter service will require passport as ID.
Supermarkets are located at the top of Garajau Main Street and over the highway flyover.
There is one in the small shopping mall in Garajau called Pingo Doce, plus Modelo Continente situated on the left side.
This is walkable, but it is all uphill. A Taxi is probably a good option and reasonably priced.
