The County Galway/County Clare region

Galway City as well as the Galway County offers its visitors a lot of attractions. The historic ‘City of the Tribes’ itself is a lovely and vibrant place with bustling streets and outgoing people. After a full day of sightseeing, hiking or playing golf you can rest in a cosy and friendly atmosphere of the city’s pubs and restaurants. During the summer months, Galway becomes the home of exceptional entertainment events like the Galway Races or the Galway Arts Festival. Its location makes it a perfect base for tours to Connemara , the magnificent Cliffs of Moher and other sights in counties of Mayo and Clare.

All three counties surrounding Galway are soaked in history and studded with amazing castles and mansions, which differ not only in size and shape but also setting and atmosphere. Some of them are surrounded by beautiful gardens suitable for walks and rest, whilst others are perched on hillsides. Among the most beautiful are The Abbeyglen Castle, The Lynch’s Castle, and Ashford castle.

Galway City

Galway City, especially the area of Quay Street, is famous for the vibrant nightlife. The cobblestone streets are lined with restaurants, cafes and pubs which offer a mixture of traditional and modern-day entertainment. The music played ranges from club dance to traditional Irish/Céili.

During the summer months Galway becomes a melting pot of cultures and the home of many famous festivals. The Galway Film Fleadh attracts directors, actors, cinematographers and artists from different countries and backgrounds. The Galway Arts Festival presents an international programme of theatre, spectacle, dance, visual arts, music, literature & comedy involving hundreds of artists and performers. The Galway Race Week is the largest and longest horse racing festival in Europe. The atmosphere is full of fun and excitement. Every evening after the races, the city centre becomes a meeting ground for socialising and entertainment .

"Great location, very noisy!!"

We stayed in the apartments with 2 small kids for a week. The only real drawback for us was the extreme noise in the apartments. We the adults were at the front so had the noise of the main road while… More

Thank you for your review, we appreciate all feedback that we receive. We are sorry to hear that you found our apartment noisy, unfortunately as all our apartments have a sea view, this does mean that they are all situated over the road which runs along the promenade - this can create a limited level of noise at particular times of the day. We also try our best to provide all our apartments with the essential equipment that guests may require, and have recently purchased some clothes airers to provide upon request. We provide each guest with one large and one small towel upon arrival as well as additional hand towels and bath mats in each bathroom. As our apartments are self catering we only supply a courtesy amount of 2 rolls of toilet paper (per bathroom) for the initial arrival, though there is a 'Centra' store a few minutes walk away where further essentials can be purchased. We are pleased that you enjoyed your overall stay and found the location to great advantage. We hope to see you again in the future.

Thank you for your review, all feedback is much appreciated. Very glad to hear that you enjoyed Galway and the view from your apartment overlooking Galway Bay. We have taken on board all of your other comments and are sorry that you felt other areas were lacking. We provide all our guests each with one large towel and one small towel upon arrival, as well as extra hand towels and bath mats in all bathrooms. As we are self catering apartments we do only supply guests with the initial toilet paper required (2 rolls provided per bathroom), but there is a 'Centra' store only a few minutes away to purchase any further supplies. We do encourage our guests to report any issues with noisy neighbours, or issues with the apartment to our caretaker - and we will always do our best to help. We do hope to see you again in the future.

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Galway and thank you for your comments, all feedback is much appreciated. Unfortunately as our apartments are located so close to the promenade and beach there is an unavoidable level of noise from the street below, we do find that this subsides during the night time. The benefit of this proximity is that all our apartments have a sea view and are less than a minute from the beach. We are glad to hear that you were happy with the apartment facilities and enjoyed the location in Salthill. We do hope to see you again in the future.
