Stroll around the ancient village of Carate Urio on the west shore of Lake Como. Narrow stepped pathways and romantic footbridges link the characteristically old lake villas to the shore. Carate Urio is an ancient, small village with a handful of café-bars or restaurants where you are guaranteed a warm welcome, great coffee, quaffable wine and of course fantastic food!

Newly refurbished, this luxurious three * bedroom apartment has been tastefully decorated and is located in one the most desirable residential parts of Lake Como (45 seconds in a fast car to George Clooney's Villa Oleandra in Laglio). At the same time, it's convenient for visiting the popular western branch, from Como's old town to the water-sports centres at the Northern end of the Lake, as well as the popular mid-lake triangle of Menaggio, Bellagio and Varenna. And for longer day trips, Milan, Lugano and St Moritz are within easy reach.

The apartment itself provides wonderful Lake views from all of its rooms. Although it sleeps 4 adults it also has a *fun third bedroom with bunk beds if you have kids making it ideal for families too.

A luxurious holiday hideaway, the home features two bathrooms (1 of which is en suite) plus a spacious private garden make this home the perfect Lake Como retreat. The two double or twin bedrooms each have a zip and link bed (king size when linked and two generous singles when apart) The third bedroom was designed with children in mind and is pretty small but with bunk beds and its very own porthole window – its quirky and can sleep tidy adults at a push, taking the total of guests the home sleeps to 6.

The sun room or "look out", situated on the first floor is a quiet spot where you can relax with a book or a glass of prosecute and watch the amazing sunsets over the lake, it's also a great spot for meeting for drinks before dinner. The large sitting room has a beautifully restored antique floor and is the perfect room to get your family or friends together and enjoy some of the games we all enjoy playing when we are on holiday. Cook and eat indoors in the modern dining kitchen or go outdoors. Here there is a barbecue for outdoor cooking and a big table for al fresco dining. This all sits underneath a wrought iron gazebo that is covered from spring to autumn with greenery and lilacs - offering welcome shade from the sun – and fairy lights come on when the sun goes down.

Carate Urio is ideally situated to explore some of the hot spots of the lake by ferry, like the famous Villa d'Este or Harry's Bar in Cernobbio where you might sip a cocktail in celebrity company. Good road and rail links make art & culture trips to Milan, Bergamo, Verona and Venice fast and easy.

If Cornelia (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
