Smithy Cottage, awarded 4 Star Gold, is a newly refurbished single story conversion of the Old Forge, part of three, surrounding a private walled courtyard. Each cottage can be hired individually or collectively for a group or family wishing to retain their privacy whilst holidaying together. Smithy has its own own private patio, barbecue and exquisite views.

The accommodation is spacious and attractive offering modern amenities with a traditional flair in a tranquil setting surrounded by beautiful countryside in the heart of the Broads. Smithy Cottage has a secluded seating area and barbecue overlooking the fields, perfect for enjoying a quiet relaxing drink at any time of the day. Smithy Cottage is open plan and all on one level with very comfortable seating area. The kitchen is totally fully equipped including breakfast bar. The bedroom has a King size bed with a en-suite relaxing Jacuzzi Spa Bath. Free Wi-Fi and DVD available.

Set in the heart of the Norfolk Broads eight miles from the fine, historic city of Norwich and a short drive to the sandy beaches of the East Coast, Blofield Heath is an excellent location for exploring the many attractions of Norfolk or simply relaxing in the peaceful countryside. The area around Blofield offers quiet lanes for walking and cycling. There are plenty of traditional country pubs with restaurants within convenient driving distance. Salhouse, Brundall, and South Walsham Broads are nearby where you can launch or hire a boat, with the RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen providing a delight for walkers and nature lovers. The cathedral city of Norwich with its cobbled streets, timber-framed houses, bustling outdoor market, theatres and shops provides further interest and entertainment.

Why can't I call Tanya (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Tanya (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Tanya (the owner) a message.

If Tanya (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
