This is one of the rare locations in Almunecar where you are lucky enough to see both sunrise and sunset.

Inside

With open-plan living, sitting and kitchen areas, high vaulted ceilings, pine doors and window shutters this villa has a fabulous spacious feel and wonderfully combines the modern with the traditional.

Sitting and dining areas:

• sitting area with log fire (fuel not included), seating for 6, coffee and side tables and bookcase, games, books and information files, TV to as video monitor only, videos.

• dining area with a large dining table and seating for 6

Kitchen:

• newly fitted with modern units, double Belfast sink, ceramic hob, combination microwave/convection oven, fridge-freezer, electric kettle, toaster, slow cooker, food processor etc etc.

• very well equipped with cooking utensils, tableware and even a selection of herbs and spices

Bedrooms:

• 3 spacious double bedrooms, 1 with king bed and the others, each with 2 single beds

• large built-in pine wardrobes

• fans, hairdryer, chests of drawers, side tables, chairs and also some toys and items left for your considerate use

Bathrooms:

• bathroom 1: newly fitted in modern, rustic style with bath, shower, WC, wash-basin and fitted wooden shelving

• bathroom 2: en suite to main bedroom – newly fitted with WC, basin unit and shower; tiles chosen to mimic the red glow of evening sunlight on the mountain which is viewed from the window

Gas heaters are available, but please note that these should never be used in a closed room, Refill of gas is the renters' responsibility.

Outside

• private pool 8m x 5m with Roman steps set in pool terrace with BBQ, Moorish style table and chairs, Arab bench, parasol, sun-loungers.

• extensive garden and grounds which include olives, pomegranates, almonds, apricots, figs and herbs, in addition to specimen and natural trees and shrubs, cultivated and wild flowers

• large front and side terrace with table and chairs, bench and covered Moorish chill-out / dining area.

Things to do

This villa is suitable for families, friends and couples who will appreciate the tranquillity and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside but there is also a wide range of activities nearby for all of the family, including all the opportunities offered at the coast.

Of course you can always go nowhere…in spring listen to hoopoo, frogs and nightingales, find wild orchids and irises, smell the orange blossom on the terraces beneath the villa or gaze out on to the mountain-sides, covered with grape, almond, citrus and avocados. In summer, you may prefer just to swim in the pool, sunbathe, or sit in the shade of the carob tree, hear the goats and sheep, with their bells, as they meander across the hillsides and watch shooting stars by night.

If you enjoy nature, bird-watching, photography, painting or writing, then the world is your oyster.

All in all, if you want peace and tranquillity, with things to do close at hand, this is the place for you.

Lovely house in peaceful surroundings

We had a lovely slow week at Bajo La Maroma doing very little other than swimming in the pool, enjoying the beautiful view and cracking open the delicious almonds from the tree.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Shona (the owner) a message.

If Shona (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
