From the owner

This lovely holiday cottage, dating from the beginning of the 18th Century, has been restored to a high standard and will provide a cosy and tranquil base for your holiday. Situated just outside the charming village of Mantilly, about 9 km from Domfront, 'Grenadiers Grange' is within easy reach of Cherbourg, the Normandy landing beaches especially Utah and Omaha, and ferries to the Channel Islands. Mont St Michel is a 1 hour drive away, and Bayeux, to the North, is about an hour and a half. It is in an excellent position to serve as a base for trips to Brittany or the Loire Valley.

The Grange is a cosy gite adjoining the main 18th century Manor House. Suitable for 3 adults or two adults and a child.. Could provide a cot for an extra very young child..A spa pavilion is available during high season. Other times on request for a fee of 5 euros per day.

The port of Caen is only an hour and a half away and Dinard airport, which has daily flights to the UK, is a similar distance.

The area where the gite is located is traditional Normandy and extremely rural, quiet and peaceful. It's a safe environment for children, and the lane, which passes the cottage, serves only five other houses.

Because the terrain is gently rolling and the lanes quiet, cycling and walking from the cottage are popular too. However modern swimming pools, sandy beaches, ice skating, and canoeing are all a short drive away; and of course, being in France, there are good restaurants and local markets abound and you'll find lots of recommendations in the fact sheet we provide when you rent the gite.

we replied to the booking notification within 1 hour of the email arriving at our PC. Very sad but we do require a minimum of 2 days notice in advance of booking.

Why can't I call Ann (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Ann (the owner) a message.

If Ann (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
