From the owner

Le Pressoir is a detached cottage with rustic charm. You will know that you are in the heart of the country when you wake up to the sound of birdsong and you look out over the orchard to the rolling fields beyond. Suitable for a couple or for a family this gite has a mezzanine bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. It also has a twin bedroom. The downstairs living area is bright and airy with comfortable seating. Our gites are set in an acre of attractive grounds with an abundance of flowers and fruit. Le Pressoir has it's own private garden area where you can sit out and relax and there are picnic tables where you can enjoy a meal and a glass of local cider. The orchard is a haven for a wide variety of birds in the Spring so bring your binoculars. If you like al fresco cooking there is a barbeque is available for you to use. We have a productive vegetable garden and delicious fresh produce in season is available for guests to buy.

There are pleasant country walks right on our doorstep or you may prefer to borrow a bicycle to explore the quiet country lanes.

Develop your creative talents by joining one of our Tuesday Art workshops. All abilities are welcome. Children's Art mornings run on Wednesdays throughout July and August

Thank you for taking the time to review Le Pressoir Don. It was nice to meet you all. You mentioned our nearby village of Saint Quentin les Chardonnets, which is actually a little over a km away. It is a pretty little village but it's true that you need to visit the nearby town of Tinchebray , which is 4.5 km from Orchard Gites, for local services / shops etc. If you plan to visit all the local tourist destinations such as Mont St Michel, the D-Day beaches you definitely need a car. However some guests have arrived by train from Paris and I have been able to collect them from Vire station and they have spent their stay exploring the local area on foot or have borrowed our bicycles. An option which can be considered.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Alison (the owner) a message.

If Alison (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
